Football Tips: How To Run The Post Route Hi, I’m Reggie Rembert former first-team All-American from the United States Air Force Academy and CoachUp coach. And this is the post. It’s important to run good routes, creates separation from the defender to make it a lot easier to make the catch. With a post route, make sure your inside foot is forward and at the 10-yard mark, plant your outside foot hard and then drive to the goal post. Get your eyes around and make a play.
