A and B Skips Instruction | CoachUp Cross Country Training

Coach Pat O’Connor explains the importance of A and B skips.

Pat O’Connor: Hi, I’m coach Pat O’Connor here with CoachUp. A and B skips are important, dynamic drills as used as a part of your warm up routine. A skips are primarily important for the concept of stride frequency. You wanna get it as close to 180 steps per minute as possible. B skips help with stride length. The faster you go, the longer your stride should be. The slower you go, the shorter your stride should be. These two drills really help improve overall efficiency, form, and speed during a race.
