Basketball Tips: How To Shoot The Pull Up Jump Shot

Former pro forward and CoachUp coach Jordan Fliegel teaches you how to perform the pull up jump shot.

Jordan Fliegel: Hi I’m Jordan Fliegel, former pro forward and CoachUp coach. And this is the pull up jump shot. Once you get by your defender, you need to be comfortable not only finishing at the rim, but taking a pull up jump shot. When you’re doing a pull up jump shot, you can either do it jump step, in which both your feet land at the same time, or one two step, which you land left right or right left. It’s important when you’re catching to the ball, or to the basket, do a jump stop, so you have both your pivot feet available for your use. If you’re moving to the right, you wanna step with your inside foot, your left foot, to catch the ball or to take that pull up. When you’re moving to your left, you wanna step with your inside foot, which is your right foot, to either catch the ball, or to take that shot.
