Field Hockey Tips: How To Pull Back And Change Direction

Former college field hockey player and CoachUp coach Anna Giannoni shows how to pull back and change direction.

Anna Giannoni: Hey guys, my name’s Anna Giannoni. I’m a former college field hockey player and a CoachUp coach. And this is the pull back and change of direction. You wanna use this move because rather than going to the left, and running into the opponent’s stick, you can pull back and go to the right and completely bypass them. What you’re gonna do is, you’re gonna have to start with the ball in the middle of your body. You’re simply gonna dribble forward, you’re gonna stop the ball, abruptly, with your left hand, by turning your hand over, pulling quickly back to your right leg, and then your gonna simply burst out to the right.
