More About Coach Colin
I have been coaching and training athletes for 11 years, specializing in Youth-High School QBs and WRs for the past ten years. Currently, I am working as the Wide Receivers Coach at William Howard Taft Charter High School located in Woodland Hills, California. In 2021, I finished coaching Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers at Watkins Memorial High School located in Pataskala, Ohio. Prior to that, I coached Wide Receivers at Bexley High School and helped the team achieve an 11-1 record, including the first-ever playoff victory and an undefeated regular season. I also coached at Saint Charles Preparatory School, my high school alma mater, for two years.
I am a graduate of The Ohio State University, where I earned a degree in Kinesiology specializing in Physical Activity and Coaching. This specialized major has provided me with the academic tools and classroom knowledge necessary for many on-the-field applications. Outside of high school coaching and academics, I have gained valuable experience working with Columbus Recreation and Parks.
I hold several certifications, including OHSAA State Certified coach with a PAP licensure, Accredited Interscholastic Coach, CPR, and First Aid certified. Additionally, I have obtained CYO Certified (California), Protecting God's Children (National), Heat Illness Prevention (NFHS), and Sportsmanship (NFHS) certifications.
I have listed some resources and information about my coaching journey below.

During my high school years at Saint Charles Preparatory, I had the honor of playing as a quarterback for two years on the football team. It was a challenging experience, but I learned a great deal from it. I also had the opportunity to participate in Track from my Sophomore to Senior year (2006-2009) at St. Charles, and I was proud to be a three-year letterman. One of my most memorable achievements during that time was breaking the indoor school record in the 60-meter dash, which was a thrilling accomplishment for me.
I focus on a holistic approach to training athletes. Our first priority will be to improve your body awareness. Then, we will work on achieving body stability, explosive hip movements, mental clarity, and long-lasting physical health.
Session 1: Establishing a baseline - Dynamic stretching, explosive movements, body coordination exercises, setting goals, and position-specific stretches.
Session 2: Establishing a baseline - Position-specific goals, dynamic stretching, quickness drills, explosive movements, and position-specific stretches.
Session 3: Establishing a baseline - Dynamic stretching, quickness drills, stability exercises specific to the player.
Session 4: Player-specific testing - Quickness, speed, and coordination drills.
Our goals will be to improve the strength and flexibility of the hips, core, and glutes, as well as balance, stability, and coordination. We will focus on position-specific training, speed, and explosive movements. It's important that you learn to feel the muscles being used during each exercise.

Colin's scouting preparation is thorough. He has a spreadsheet or creates a lesson plan for even the smallest of indy drills. He's a great player developer and always puts the player first.
