More About Coach Andrew

Over the past 15 years I have worked with hundreds of athletes from all walks of life. Some in as they are just getting started in sports and some coming from multiple athletic arenas. Most of my athletes come from Middle School and High School. Between those two areas I do work with several college and Olympic Athletes on their performance & recovery by nutrition..

Being native to Richmond, Virginia most of my coaching has been in the surrounding areas at local gyms, in-home, private studios, or online.

I hold a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Ferrum College and a M.S. in Strength and Conditioning from Wisconsin LaCrosse. In order to complete my Masters Degree work, I was an intern with the Nebraska Huskers Athletic Department.

Currently I hold certification with the International Sport Science Association.

High School Wrestling Team, Rock Climbing, and Mountain Biking shaped by teenage years along with a fervent affinity towards the weight room after nearly being hurt by a coach. My sport choices were driven by the drive to improve myself vs being part of a team. If I failed, I wanted to know how I could get better, not blame others.

We start with a 3 minute conversation to see how you are feeling before starting. We then dive directly into your general warmup to boost blood flow and alertness followed by dynamics to stretch and activate you for your session. All this is complete within 15 minutes.

Workouts are ranked and adapted to what fits your needs at the time you come into the facility. All athletes are put on a personal plan that meets their needs, tested quarterly, and challenged to advance their current fitness level as they are able. We coach to improve, not waste time. No athlete will ever be yelled at or demeaned in our program. We teach, coach, and train you to get better.

Athletes will cooldown with light to intense stretching depending on goals. All sessions are completed in less than 45 minutes unless requested otherwise.

Andrew, or "coach Drew" as I've always known him, became my strength and conditioning coach while I was an high school athlete. Unlike other coaches, he didn't just give me my workouts, he showed me how and why we trained the way we did. My strength increased rapidly, but it wasn't until I became a college athlete and had the opportunity to compare where I was at with other athletes who have been training for years that I realized how well he had prepared me for the next level.
