More About Coach Andrew
Over 25 years of experience learning, training, and coaching. I started coaching at 15 at Briarwood (now ACAC) to earn a gym membership and get stronger for high school wrestling—and never stopped. I’ve coached everyone from young kids learning movement to Olympians chasing gold. I also served as a graduate assistant at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, focusing on sport analysis, program development, and implementation.
I started playing sports at age 5 with coach-pitch baseball and stuck with it until I was about 15. Early on, hitting home runs came easy—but once the curveballs started and coaching became harder to access, things changed. I switched to soccer for a bit, then found my true passion in high school wrestling. Wrestling gave me a healthy outlet during a tough time in my life, especially while dealing with bullying. Honestly, I’m not sure where I’d be today if I hadn’t had that anchor.
Training runs 45 minutes. It starts with a Player Check-in then a 15 minute warmup followed by the daily training focus. We work on the following:
Movement, Speed, Agility, Strength, and Conditioning
Our process is test, train, adapt, repeat. Testing is quarterly after day 1.
