More About Coach Andrew

Over the past 15 years I have worked with hundreds of athletes from all walks of life. Some in as they are just getting started in sports and some coming from multiple athletic arenas. Most of my athletes come from Middle School and High School. Between those two areas I do work with several college and Olympic Athletes on their performance & recovery by nutrition..

Being native to Richmond, Virginia most of my coaching has been in the surrounding areas at local gyms in personal training settings, private high performance personal training studios, or phone consultations across the nation.

I hold a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Ferrum College and a M.S. in Strength and Conditioning from Wisconsin LaCrosse. In order to complete my Masters Degree work, I was an intern with the Nebraska Huskers Athletic Department.

Currently I hold certification with the International Sport Science Association.

Athletics played a huge role in my childhood. Being raised by single mother most of my years were spent in high school athletics. My most notable and favorite sport was wrestling at Midlothian High School. During that time I was one of the top wrestlers in the district and could have gone to the State Tournament had I not become sick.

As an athlete enters the studio they come to the "Champions Training Room" where excuses are left outside and work is done.

Each athlete young or old starts their workout with a general cardiovascular warmup to get their blood pumping and warm up their body systems. The general warmup could be calisthenics, jogging, running, etc. After 3-5 minutes of warming up we go directly into a dynamic warmup designed to activate and stretch the sport specific muscles we will be working that day for optimal performance and decreased injury. The general and dynamic warmup combined lasts anywhere from 10-15 minutes.

Once the warmup is completed we move directly into power, speed, strength, balance, and agility training. This is done through a series of training drills and exercises designed to help people move better, more efficiently, and athletically no matter what their sport may be. The "training session" can last anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the individuals skill level.

After training is completed we do 5 to 10 minutes of conditioning and stretching to help promote recovery and optimal performance for the next days training and sporting activities.

Coach Andrew was great! He pushed my 15 year old to get the best out of him. He is very knowledgeable and I recommend him to anyone who wants to reach the next level in their game. He also pushed me and motivated me with my workout with him.

Great coach. Pushed me hard, showed me some great new exercises, and great facility. Recommend him highly to others

I have been working out with Andrew for about 2 years. He is a great coach! My main goal was increasing strength and muscle mass and I have met both of those to my satisfaction. I also wanted to prevent any work out related injuries and Andrew has been very cognizant of it. He is very flexible and will develop a regimen to meet your individual needs. I have recommended him to several friends.

Coach Andrew is AWESOME! He knows how to motivate and inspire me to be a better version of myself. Looking forward to more work outs!

Everyone should give him a shot!

Andrew is a great motivator. He encourages and pushes while listening to your concerns. He's always prompt and professional. Very happy with my results 👍

Andrew, or "coach Drew" as I've always known him, became my strength and conditioning coach while I was an high school athlete. Unlike other coaches, he didn't just give me my workouts, he showed me how and why we trained the way we did. My strength increased rapidly, but it wasn't until I became a college athlete and had the opportunity to compare where I was at with other athletes who have been training for years that I realized how well he had prepared me for the next level. He expected me to work hard and pushed me, but seeing how well it has paid off now shows me it was worth it.
I've trained with Drew for 3 months- have lost weight, toned up, and gained strength! Drew's "You CAN do it!" attitude and positive style have motivated me to push beyond what I ever thought I could achieve! I look forward to working with him in the new space.
Andrew is awesome! He's very accommodating and encouraging. Isn't a drill sergeant by any means, but still pushes you to do things you don't think are possible. He really does care about your success and wants to see you exceed your expectations. I'm thrilled to be working with him!
