More About Coach Robert

I have trained athletes in many different aspects. I have primarily been in the private sector of athletic training. I currently own am athletic training center that focus on sports performance as well martial arts. Outside of martial arts specific classes, I offer group fitness classes as well as personal training. Personal training can include anything from weight-loss programs to strength and conditioning to sport specific skills training. Mostly I have worked with children and teens up through high school and even into college. I do currently have and previously have had adult clients. Other than my own training experience and athletic career, my formal education of a Bachelors degree in Neuroscience and a Masters degree in Exercise Science and Human Performance allows me to apply the latest research and techniques into my training sessions.

I have approximately 14 years of football experience at both offensive and defensive line positions. I played collegiate football at Trinity University in San Antonio. There I earned all conference honors for offensive lineman. I was also a former all-state athlete in high school.

I believe that working out and training can be fun if focus remains constant. Dedication and hard work are necessities for success. I expect athletes to always give 100%. A typical training session would include strength and power training in succession with speed and agility. High intensity interval training is a large focus in my programs. Everything is timed, and every rep counts. No matter what position, explosion, agility, and speed are crucial. Endurance and strength will follow power and agility. Weight training programs will alternate between hypertrophy, strength, power/explosion, and muscular endurance sessions. Agility and conditioning sessions will focus on incorporating strength and power into useful movement on the field. I am a hands-on, active coach; if I am asking the athlete to do it, I will be right there doing it as well.

Coach Robby is exactly what my son was looking for in a Coach to help him refine & improve his football O-Line skills. His first session was great and he’s excited to continue working.

My son had never played football. During 6th grade he played for a team and Coach Robert helped him through the season. When he tried out for 7th grade school football he made 7A starter right guard! we couldn't be happier and will continue with Coach for years ahead!

Robbie is fantastic. He was very patient and positive with my son. Would definitely recommend him to anyone needing some coaching in throws.

I feel like I’ve learned a lot from just 1 session. Very great and helpful coach. Highly recommend this coach if you are looking to throw farther and perfect your technique.

Coach Robert is great. My son is very reserved with new people but he really liked training with him. He’s very involved the entire session and ensuring it is properly done but also very motivating. Training facility was very nice, coach was so helpful. I would recommend Coach Robert to everyone.

Coach Robert is fantastic - I’ve learned so much, and my discus technique has really improved. I can’t wait for my next Varsity meet!

He’s also been supportive and kind, a big part of learning.

Coach Robert is amazing! Great energy and has an enthusiasm to teach. I’ve learned under several personal coaches over the years and he definitely knows his stuff. I like the fact he takes facets from different forms of martial arts and incorporates it into his own teaching. His knowledge makes you want to learn more because it’s coming from an open mind about different forms. Highly recommend!!!

Great coach for technique.

My sons were on the fence about sports because of their lack physical fitness over the years but after training with Coach Robert they started having more confidence in themselves which led to the motivation to work harder for improvement!!!

Awesome coach! Got into the details of the technique that was so helpful. Explained things and was patient. Highly recommend!

It is obvious from the beginning that Coach Robert has a great passion for the sport. He is very articulate in his transfer of throwing knowledge to the athlete. He explains the mechanics of throwing and develops a strategy to aid the individual athlete improve according to his needs. Will use again.

Well worth it! Coach Robert really knows what he is doing and helped my son out a lot.

Coach Robby made more progress with my throwing 7th-grader in one hour than his middle school coaches have made all season. He relates very well to my son, breaks down the throws into easy-to-understand steps, and is very encouraging. Can’t recommend Coach Robby enough.

Coach Robert was great with my son. Spent a lot of time on form, proper mechanics and positive reinforcements. Very impressed!

Did great job working with my 12 year old. Spends the time teaching the fundamentals and show great patience

Coach Robert was great. My son is new to the Shot Put and Coach Robert really took the time to start from the basics. He was patient, knowledgable and really gave us some great fundamentals to work on. I feel he will be a huge help to us in the future but also made an impressive change immediately via my sons 3 foot improvement in his PR less than 2 days after our first coaching session. Thanks Again Robert and Thanks CoachUp for this awesome resource.
