Over the past two years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to play for Coach Roman, in many ways he has helped me not just on the field and in the classroom, but outside of school as well, ultimately shaping me into the young man I am today. Between dedicating hours of his life coaching from the months of May to early November, he does it with such passion that gives not only myself, but my teammates a will and desire to be better. Coach Roman is always there with a smile on his face, which immediately uplifts the mood from the get-go. The team and I greatly appreciate the work he does, not only as a coach throughout the season, but for the offseason work he puts into our program. His effort is unmatched and he’s truly a great man to play for. With the recruitment aspect of his job, he has helped me greatly between getting myself and others on track through X set up to even emailing coaches for us in his free time. For me personally, he introduced me to hundreds of universities I have never heard of before and gave me coaches emails so that I could reach out. He works diligently in his free time to better the lives of his players and gives us the push to do more and help realize our fullest potential. For that, I am forever grateful. As our quarterback coach, although I play linebacker, the work and preparation he puts in behind the scenes is amazing. Weekly, he’ll have daily meetings with our multiple quarterbacks to help better them mentally for opponents we may be facing and overall improve their football IQ. In the mornings, he will host morning workouts where the work is real. Between weights and sprints along with agility, the training and preparation he provides for us only makes us better. Throughout the last two years I’ve come to realize that he has the fullest comprehension of football knowledge out of everyone I know, and that it is a wonderful thing that he’s a part of our program.
