More About Coach Xiana

I have been coaching for three years now and have specialized in track and field, fitness, and strength and conditioning. I have a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and am currently the long jump coach at Phillips Exeter Academy and a personal coach and trainer with individual athletes from other schools. I have experience working in a gym setting as well helping clients of all ages (10-65) in reaching their personal fitness/athletic goals. Through my different experiences I have worked with individuals, small groups, and teams.

I myself am a former DI track and field athlete and a recent university graduate (‘23). I participated in competitive soccer and track during my high school career and track for five years of my collegiate career at the University of Rhode Island. I hold titles for the NEICAA outdoor long jump champion (‘21, ‘23), Atlantic 10 indoor 4x400m champion (‘23), runner up in the NEICAA outdoor 200m (‘23), runner up in the Atlantic 10 4x100m (‘21) and was an All American in the indoor sprint medley relay during high school (‘16). I also hold the URI sophomore indoor long jump school record and was a captain of the team for two years (‘21-’23).

For an hour long session I would take the athlete through a warm up specific to the exercises we would later perform, walk them through proper form of lifts/exercises while demonstrating where needed, and properly answer any questions throughout. A first session may involve gathering baseline information or going through proper lifting form/gaining an idea of their lifting/exercise experience. Future sessions may be more structured and tailored toward their specific goals. Potential lifts/exercises may include squats, deadlifts, hang cleans, plyometrics, MB throws, body weight exercises, and/or mobility and stretching.
