Availability: within ~10 miles of the Glendale/Pasadena Area
I am also a full-time teacher and coach at a high school in Downtown Los Angeles and with this in mind here is my availability.
Mondays: I can usually do one session at night around 6:30.
Tuesdays: I can usually do two sessions a night at 5:00 and 6:30.
Wednesdays: I can usually do one session at night around 6:30.
Thursday: I can usually do one session at night around 6:30.
Fridays: I try to leave for myself but can do one session around 6:30 if it's the only time that works.
Saturday and Sundays: Free but varies week to week.

My coaching experience in track and field has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. It has been an honor to work with talented and dedicated athletes and help them reach their full potential. I have been coaching at the high school level for over a decade and have had the opportunity to work with athletes of all abilities, from beginners to state qualifiers.

One of the things I believe in as a coach is taking a scientific-based approach. I believe that mastering the fundamentals is essential in any sport, and this is especially true in track and field. I spend a lot of time working on technique and drills with my athletes, and I am always looking for ways to improve their form and efficiency. By focusing on the basics, I am able to help my athletes progress at their own pace and reach their goals.

Another important aspect of my coaching philosophy is progression. I believe that athletes should be challenged and pushed to reach their full potential, but I also believe that this should be done in a gradual and controlled way. I work with my athletes to create a plan that is tailored to their individual needs and goals, and I am always looking for ways to help them improve. Whether it is through strength and conditioning, drills, or mental training, I am always looking for ways to help my athletes progress and reach their full potential.

As a coach, I also believe in being a lifelong learner. I have my level 1 USATF coaching certification, and I am always looking for ways to improve my knowledge and skills as a coach. I attend clinics, read books and articles, and talk to other coaches to try to improve myself as a coach. I believe that by constantly learning and growing, I am able to better serve my athletes and help them reach their goals.

One of the things I love most about coaching track and field is that it is a great way to teach life lessons. Track and life mirror each other in this sense, what you get out of it will be a direct reflection of how much you put into it. I believe that by teaching my athletes the importance of hard work, discipline, and perseverance, I am helping them to become better people. I believe that by teaching my athletes the importance of setting goals and working towards them, I am helping them to become more successful in all areas of their lives.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to coach state qualifiers in sprints, hurdles, jumps, and distance events. My teams have also competed at the Oregon Relays and Penn Relays. These experiences have been incredibly rewarding and have given my athletes the opportunity to compete against some of the best athletes in the country. I believe that by competing at a high level, my athletes are able to see what they are capable of and set even higher goals for themselves.

I wasn't a great athlete. I did a few sports in high school and that is as far as my athletic experience goes. However, you aren't hiring me to be an athlete. I love sports and I've been coaching or training in some form since I was 16. I've been coaching track since I was 19.

A training session with me will be focused on helping you achieve your goals and reach your full potential. I will work with you to identify your specific needs and design a training plan that is tailored to your individual needs.

The first part of our session will be a dynamic warm-up. This is an important step in preparing your body for the training session. The warm-up will focus on activating the major muscle groups, increasing blood flow and preparing your body for the main session.

Next, we will go through low-level specific drills for your event or sport. These drills will help you master the fundamentals and prepare you for the main session. The drills will be designed to help you develop the skills and techniques needed to perform at your best.

The main session will vary greatly depending on your needs. For sprinters, we will focus on acceleration/starts and max velocity mechanics. We will also work on race planning and strategies to help you perform at your best on race day. For distance runners, we will focus on repeat training to develop pacing and good running mechanics.

For ball sports athletes, we will focus on more involved agility drills. These drills will help you develop the agility and quickness needed to perform well in your sport. We will also work on ball handling and passing skills as well as other specific skills needed for your sport.

Throughout the main session, we will time and record your performance so that we can track your progression over time. Video analysis can also be provided to help you see and understand your technique and make adjustments as needed.

After the main session, we will do light strength training, core and mobility work if applicable for the athlete. These exercises will help you build strength and stability, which will help you perform better in your sport. The exercises will be tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Coach Vinnie has been working with my young athlete and has proven to be patient and good with kids of such a young age which is a skill in itself. He takes the time to explain and demonstrate which has helped my son understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. He knows how to push an athlete but not be too demanding for there skill and experience level.

Coach Vinnie was awesome! I loved the way he demonstrated all the sprint drills very patiently - he seemed to understand exactly how to teach them so I could learn the specifics. And the session itself was really fun! We did a combination of drills to learn the fundamentals along with actual sprinting, and I felt I learned so much in just one session. If you want to learn to sprint, I highly recommend him!!
