More About Coach Vincent

Every runner has a purpose. Whether you're in for a new hobby; want to qualify for Boston; focus on weight loss; enhance performance with a particular sport; pass a fitness exam; enjoy the social aspect; or just have an addiction to endorphins, I support you 100%. I've been a runner for as long as I can remember, and I enjoy helping others achieve their goals.

In 2010, I developed the cross country intercollegiate club team at Bradley University, and I started privately coaching in 2015. As a current Army Reserve Captain, I also have experience creating physical readiness programs to develop and maintain soldiers' fitness performance levels.

Past athletes I've coached: XC/Track & Field (ages 6 to college-bound); youth soccer and lacrosse players focusing on agility/speed; road racers (5k to marathon); beginner fitness enthusiasts; and professionals with required fitness tests (i.e. law enforcement, federal agency candidates, and military service members).

I moved to the DMV in 2018, and even though coaching is a part-time job, I consider it a full-time commitment to helping as many athletes as possible! If you have any questions about the services I provide, please ask!

Formal Coaching and College Education:
Bradley University, Bachelor of Science, Health Science
Century College, Associate of Applied Science, Orthotic and Prosthetic Fitter
USA Track & Field Level 1 Coach
U.S. Paralympics Level 1 Coach

I compete at the 5k to 10k distances, and routinely train for half-marathons, marathons, sprint triathlons, and adventure races. My favorite race has been the Bataan Memorial Death March Marathon in New Mexico.

I competed at the intercollegiate club-level at Bradley University. In high school, I ran at the Illinois XC State Finals and the Nike XC Nationals - Midwest Championships. In track & field, I specialized in the 800m to 3200m run. Other activities I currently engage in include boxing and Latin dancing.

Session structure depends on the desired competition level the individual wants to achieve. If you're a beginner runner and have goals to eventually compete in the USA Track and Field Masters level, your session will be much different than a different beginner runner who wants to lose ten pounds and maintain activity at the recreation level.

I develop customized plans with an endurance base, event-specific workouts, stretching, mobility drills, and supplementary strength training in relation to the person's running form/mechanics.

Client Reviews

Coach Vincent was great! He had patience and attentiveness of a true professional, and was very skilled in coaching. I am looking forward to continue being trained by him.

Vince is a great coach and we would recommend him highly. He’s clearly got a lot of experience training athletes and runners, which allowed him to get straight into some assessments and exercises that made an immediate impact. He’s been great to work with!

Coach Vincent is beyond excellent! There is no way to get better with just one session a week so having coaching on exercises and goals outside of training means I'm actually able to improve stride, form, and strength.

I also really appreciate him working around an existing injury so that I can make progress without potentially doing damage.

Anyone looking to get faster, stronger, and smarter at training this is definitely the coach you want!

Vincent is thoughtful and engaged.

Coach Vince was absolutely amazing. I came in without any previous running experience and gave him only two months to help prepare me for a PAT (Physical Ability Test). He pushed me to my limits, created a great workout plan, and gave me countless tips for test day. I ended up passing the PAT with flying colors but I feel the real achievement is the fact that I can now run 5 miles without keeling over.

I highly recommend him to anybody looking for a running coach! Vince knows what he's doing and is great at helping people achieve their goals.

Coach Vince is exactly what I am looking for to improve my Air Force PFT run. Patient, and corrects my form. Provided a good workout to better my form and time. Did all runs and workouts right with me. Thanks Coach!

Great communication! Really enjoyed working with him. He motivates, ask questions and is flexible. Would definitely recommend him.

Vince is an amazing running coach who is an expert at analyzing your running style and helping you to fix or optimize it. He works with you in many ways and tailors your instruction and training based on ability, goals, and frequency. I'd recommend working with Vince if you're interested in improving your running form and speed, or simply want to prevent injury or further injury if you have an existing issue. His guidance has been very helpful.

Great first session. Confident my money was well spent. Excited to continue my training with Coach Vincent. Update: just finished my first package of sessions. When I first started I felt like I was gonna fall over after a half mile of light running. Just ran a 4 mile run the other day by myself with nobody but myself to keep me motivated. I have seen lots of improvements after training with coach Vincent. He is a great coach that knows when to push u and when to take it ez on u. He is extremely knowledgeable and I've learned a lot. I will definitely be buying another package to continue my training with coach Vincent. I would highly recommend him to anybody wanting to improve their running game.

If you or someone you know is struggling with physical fitness or the Army 2 Mile Anaerobic Run then I highly recommend Coach Vincent. Vincent will give you the much needed techniques missing from your training that you will propel you to success when it comes time for you to take your next in the Army Physical Fitness Test. I am down 17 pounds. I was 219 lbs, now 202 lbs. I am also down 4% Body Fat. I was 25%, now 21%.
I picked the 10 session packet giving me the perfect amount of training time that allowed me to Coach Vincent’s highly successful techniques second nature. Whatever packet you choose you won’t regret it because it will pay you back in big performance dividends on your test day!
I would definitely recommend Coach Vincent to anyone who wants a friendly approachable coach who always shows up on time, ready to go and at a location that is convenient to you!

If you are looking for a running coach, search no further. Vincent is a knowledgeable, dedicated, and professional coach. He cares about his clients and can tailor a program to meet your goals. He is also very willing to work based on your schedule and location. His knowledge about the muscle groups, different training routines, and various tips to improve speed and endurance are really helpful. I highly recommend Vincent.

My daughter wants to improve her running game. That's more than half the battle but the other component in effective coaching is the ability to connect with the athlete's style and reception for instruction.

My daughter is very happy with Coach Vincent. Here's why:

1) He is a dedicated and talented runner himself.

2) He gives solid constructive easy to understand instruction.

3) My daughter appreciates that he runs along with her.

4) He gives prompt feedback summaries after the sessions.

5) He found commonality with my daughter by sharing his personal story running for one of the local schools in the area.

6) His coaching style was a great match up for my daughter's personality.

Thanks Vince!

I worked with Vince at a running special event at Bradley University this past fall. I can say that he was enthusiastic, organized, dedicated, and performed well under pressure.
