More About Coach Tanner

Currently, I'm a 22 year old full time student at Texas A&M University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Sport Management. I've spent the last 7 years personally mastering the positions of QB and WR. Over the past 3.5 years, my coaching experience consists of training numerous junior high, junior varsity, and varsity players in a private, one on one, coaching environment. Namely, these clients are people I know personally from Tomball, Texas, where I'm from. These players have all gone on to succeed as starters for their teams. I have also trained with several of the players at Sam Houston State University just within the past spring & summer of 2016, including Ladarius Brown, Derrick Edwards, and Kevin Jackson. I currently mentor under and train with former Rice & SMU player & trainer, Cam Nwosu. My passion for football is something that drives me every day, and something that I am determined to excel in so I can give back to the game that gave so much joy to me. I am more than confident I can make anyone into the player they strive to be. From footwork, to homework (watching film), I will shape you into a starter, which ultimately will most likely lead to a scholarship. I have spent thousands of dollars, for myself, in trainer fees who have perfected my craft in quarterback and receiver mechanics and have spent countless hours studying film. I am very qualified to coach football with regards to any position as I am still playing the game daily, myself, and I truly CARE for my trainees.

Most recently, I have tried out as a walk on to the Fighting Aggies football team at Texas A&M. Spring 2016 I trained alongside Ladarius Brown, Derrick Edwards, and Kevin Jackson at SHSU (Sam Houston State University.) I played football at Tomball high school, under the direction of Tommy Kaiser, David Elmore, and David Ramsey, where I was put on varsity my Sophomore year after a very successful first 8 games with our JV team as starting Quarterback, Safety, Punt and Kick returner, and occasionally receiver. I've served as Team Captain and half time motivational speaker & prayer leader in the locker room. For, I believe, good attitude and positive energy is everything! After showing the dynamics I added to our team I was moved up to varsity where I was immediately plagued with injuries from Junior year on. It was a very unfortunate high school career as I never even got to play my senior year after sustaining a career ending head injury (3 brain bleeds). Although, even as a junior I had small colleges who showed interest in me. My dreams of playing were dashed, where I faced the most adversity of my life, which taught me about persevering through life's toughest moment. It made me realize that it could be taken away from you in a split second, even when you put years of blood sweat and tears in your craft.

Our first session will be a main evaluation of your skill and natural abilities. Once I put you through specific drills and get an idea of how to fine tune your footwork, I will put you through positional drills and evaluate your positional skills. Once I have everything I need to know about what we need to work on, I will design a personal plan for you which will be concentrated on your weaknesses. Repetition which is focused on one specific thing at a time is the only way to truly gain that extra winning step on your opponent. I am more than confident I can make anyone into the player they strive to be. From footwork, to homework (watching film), I will shape you into a starter, which ultimately will most likely lead to a scholarship.

Tanner Schultz is one of the hardest working, selfless, tireless individuals I have worked with. His work ethic is incredible, his thoughtfulness and team-first approach were refreshing to say the least, and he has persevered through many adversaries to participate as part of our football family. In all of his efforts here at Tomball High School he has worked harder and with more passion than many others I have observed. Tanner is an excellent student. He realizes that his grades come first and he has high hopes and dreams for his future. He always answers with a timely "Yes Sir", has a smile on his face, and is conscious of being on time and visible to work. He would never be accused of being absent or trying to get out of something. His love for his teammates will not be replaced and will be deeply missed. Three things I would add to finish: 1: Loyalty? Incredible Tanner has incredible loyalty to the staff and program in which he serves and he has on many occasion shown such through his actions when others would have just walked away. 2: Employable? - Without a doubt, Tanner Schultz is nothing if not hard-working. He will be highly sought after when he enters the work force, because the traits he brings to his work are intangible on paper, but impossible to notice live. 3: An Asset? - Tanner is one of the most valuable assets to our football tam. His efforts are incredible, his passion for the team are immense. Tanner was forced to make a difficult decision this season, but never once let his disappointment phase his approach to work and inspiring his teammates. In short, Tanner Schultz is what you want and need on your field, at your school, or anywhere you need a hard worker, loyal advocate, and trustworthy individual. I played with Tanner Schultz during high school at Tomball High. He is one of the most driven people I know and I was proud to have him for my QB. I know that whatever field Tanner seeks he will do well in. He is a great athlete and I think his major of sport management at TAMU is perfect for him. I'm proud to call him a friend as well. Working with Tanner has really taught me to trust my own abilities and execute my decisions quickly and accurately. I have not only gained strength and stamina by our training sessions but I've also learned a lot about staying positive. I noticed after training with Tanner that my confidence level grew and it has truly shown through with my playing this season. Tanner is one of the most energetic and fun private coaches I've ever had. He knows exactly how to motivate me and keep me focused. The drills that he does are different ones than what my high school coaches have us do and they are really helping me. I have quickly moved to a starter and it's so exciting. Tanner's fees are super competitive which my Mom really likes, too. I hope that he comes back home from college a few weekends this fall so I can train with him some more!
I can honestly say that my own football coach at school never pushed me as hard as Tanner Schultz has! He expects greatness and he won't stop until he gets it. But, he does this in a way that is very good. He never leaves me feeling like I can't do it but he continues to build me up. After each of my training sessions, I feel more ready than I was before it. I hope that whenever Tanner is in town he can help me again because I really see results from the way he coaches me!
