During the initial one-on-one coaching session (sessions are typically 60 minutes) running students complete a brief Nutrition Journal Profile, a Running Gait Analysis and a Functional Strength & Movement Screening. The results are reviewed with the coaching student. (ONLINE COACHING SESSIONS are available and are a great way to supplement your in-person training experience. The Online Training platform features personalized meal plans and video demonstrations of your customized training plan activities and can be conveniently accessed from your Private Online Training Portal anytime and anywhere on your laptop or mobile device.)

2. Coaching sessions begin with a warm-up and then progress to flexibility/range of motion activities.
3. NEXT, the format for a private/partner session depends on what the PRIMARY FOCUS of a session is for that training day such as; Distance/Sprints, Agility Training, CORE Conditioning, Explosive Power, Endurance Training etc. When possible, strength training/core conditioning activities are incorporated into aerobic conditioning drills.
4. SESSIONS CONCLUDE with a cool-down > a combination of active/passive flexibility activities and > a brief Sports Nutrition Tip/Nutrition Journal Review.

Client Reviews

Coach Steve was great working with my 13 year old son. His delivery is great. The drills and runs were thoroughly explained and the follow up recommendations were excellent.

Coach Steven is a great help in preparing for my physical fitness test. He helped me increase my endurance, speed, and pushed me to reach my goal.

Coach Steve is incredibly knowledgeable and so patient! This is my first experience with a running coach and I am finding his insight and guidance very valuable.

Coach Steve was amazing. My daughter loved working with him and especially loved the great conversations they had while training. It made the sessions super enjoyable for her and helped take her mind off all the hard work she was putting in. Coach Steve's training helped her tremendously in her running in both speed and form and it definitely showed on the fields. I would highly recommend Coach Steve to all and look forward to working with him in the future.

Love Coach Steve. He has been great for my 15 year old daughter who is trying to get in better running shape for cross country. He has given her a great plan and doing some great workouts for her. He starts with an assessment and recommendations on stretching and strength exercises. Highly recommend him!

Coach Steven is great. Kids love the workout and are dead tired afterwards. So not only do they enjoy working with coach, they get a really good workout as well. Well done coach Steve.

Great coach my daughter was very happy!

Steve is an awesome coach. He will go over your goals and tailor your training to that goal. He is very informative and wonโ€™t steer you in the wrong direction. His Communication is exactly what you would want out of a coach with check-ins and nutritional tips as well as different stretches and work outs to incorporate throughout the week. I would highly recommend Steve.

Just had my first session with coach Steve and it was great! Despite the 90+ degrees he kept me motivated and with his tips and encouragement I was able to shave 5 seconds off my 300m time! Really looking forward to our next session!

Received a very gratifying text message yesterday from one of my recent CoachUp running students who is training for the US Marshals program --"Hey Steve, just wanted to let you know that your workouts from our training sessions helped me out a lot today. We did a 2 mile run (trail), sprints, push ups, sit ups and finished off with stairs. They worked us pretty good today. Glad I came prepared. I was able to keep up and not fall out of the pack. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Thanks Steve!
Steve is a real pleasure to work with. I began working with Steve about two months ago. During my initial consultation with Steve, I mentioned to him that my primary goal was to have more energy during the day so I could do more of the things I wanted to do. I also wanted to get stronger to help alleviate pain I had been experiencing from a surgically repaired torn ACL and meniscus in my right knee. I hoped that Steve would be able to help me with these issues and give me a stronger body. Steve has tailored my workouts to first strengthen the weak areas, but each of our sessions is also a full-body workout designed to get my body back in balance. Steve also helps me to monitor everything I eat and then advises me on how I can improve my diet to maximize my energy during the day. Steve is a real pleasure to work with. He makes exercise enjoyable. The exercises vary from week to week so they don't get boring and the intensity increases each week as I get stronger. He also motivates me to supplement our workouts with strength training exercise and walking on my own.
Steve has added a new dimension of motivation, enthusiasm and creativity to my workout sessions.""You rank up there with the best of them!" โ€œI have worked with many trainers in my day and you rank up there with the best of them! You make training fun and most importantly, you really care about helping me achieve my goals. These past few months have been awesome!
Now that I have successfully completed the NJ Marathon, I just wanted to thank you Coach Steve for the excellent training program you provided. Your program was so thorough and you always provided support during those dreaded long runs! Your program enabled me to achieve a personal goal of running a marathon, and to have fun in the process. Right up to the finish line, your support and guidance was a critical element of my success. As you reminded me every week, โ€œRelax, have Fun, and GO FOR IT! You CAN do it!โ€ Well Steve, I did do it, and I have you to thank. I would highly recommend your program to any one thinking of running a marathon.
