More About Coach Stephanie

I have experience coaching youth athletes through my work as a T-ball coach during my teenage years and as a coach for youth girls’ soccer. In these roles, I worked primarily with elementary-aged children, focusing on developing fundamental skills, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive and engaging environment.

Currently, I am an occupational therapy (OT) student working with children. Through my clinical training, I have gained experience supporting kids across a range of ages, with a strong emphasis on motor development, including motor planning, balance, coordination, and overall movement skills. I aim to incorporate these principles into coaching to help improve both performance and foundational skills.

At this time, I do not hold formal coaching certifications; however, my background in OT provides me with a strong understanding of child development, movement patterns, and safe, effective skill progression. I also plan to continue expanding my knowledge through additional training and certifications in the future.

I competed at the Division I level for five years at Binghamton University, specializing in sprint and middle-distance events ranging from the 200m to the 1000m, with a primary focus on the 800m (personal best: 2:08.11).

During my collegiate career, I was the Indoor Conference Champion in the 500m in 2022 and earned runner-up finishes in both the 500m and 800m in 2023. I was also named All-Conference (America East) in both 2022 and 2023.

I hold school records in the 500m (1:12.84) and 600m (1:31.99), and I anchored the school record-setting 4x400m relay team (3:41.11). Additionally, I served as a team captain during the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons, which allowed me to take on a leadership role in mentoring teammates and contributing to team culture.

Clients can expect a structured, high-energy session that balances skill development, proper technique, and a positive, supportive environment. Each training program is designed to be both event group–specific and individualized to the athlete, taking into account their age, experience level, strengths, and areas for growth.

A typical session begins with a dynamic warm-up, including jogging, mobility work, and drills to prepare the body and reduce injury risk. I intentionally incorporate injury prevention programming at the start of each session, such as activation exercises, stability work, and proper movement patterns to support long-term athletic development.

The main portion of the session includes targeted workouts based on the athlete’s specific goals and event group. This may include: acceleration and start work (e.g., falling starts, blocks); sprint mechanics and plyometrics (e.g. A-skips, B-skips, Frans Bosch); speed and endurance intervals (workout dependent on event group, pace targets athlete-dependent).

Sessions end with a cool-down, stretching, and a brief recap where I provide individualized feedback and encouragement. My goal is for every athlete to leave feeling more confident, technically sound, and motivated to improve.
