More About Coach Stanlee

I began coaching and training athletes about 13 years ago, starting with youth recreational football programs designed for kids with learning challenges. My early work with these athletes sparked a passion for coaching that has grown ever since. I started in youth leagues and was soon invited to transition to the high school level, where I have now spent the past 7 years coaching football, wrestling, shot put, and discus.

Throughout my coaching career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a range of schools and programs, including Antioch High School, LaVergne High School, Father Ryan High School, and Lipscomb Academy. At the recreational level, I’ve coached with the UNA Bears, LaVergne Wolverines, Crimson Tide, and Blackman Blaze.

I typically work with athletes ranging in age from 5 to 25 years old, focusing on both skill development and personal growth. While I do not currently hold any formal industry certifications, my experience spans a broad range of age groups, sports, and competitive levels.

I began my collegiate athletic career at Cumberland University, where I played football and developed the foundation for my professional career. After college, I advanced to the Arena Football League (AFL), playing for both the Spokane Shock and the Tampa Bay Storm.

My professional journey continued with the Nashville Venom, where I achieved some of my most notable accomplishments. During my time with the Venom, we won a league championship, and I was honored as the Offensive Player of the Year. I also led the league in touchdowns as a fullback and was named First Team All-Offense—recognitions that reflected both my performance and leadership on the field.

These experiences at the collegiate and professional levels have shaped my approach to coaching and mentorship, allowing me to bring high-level insight, discipline, and passion to the athletes I now work with.

In a typical session with me, clients can expect a high-energy, detail-focused workout centered on developing core fundamentals for both offensive and defensive line play. We begin with a dynamic warm-up and agility drills to get the body moving and sharpen footwork. From there, we dive into position-specific techniques—working hips for better leverage, hands for striking and control, and feet for balance and explosiveness off the line.

Each session includes drills to improve hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and body control, all while reinforcing proper form and technique. I also incorporate “football IQ” elements—teaching athletes how to read subtle keys and indicators that help them anticipate plays and react quicker on the field. Every workout is designed to build strength, speed, and confidence, with a focus on making the athlete more effective and intelligent in real game situations.
