More About Coach Sophie
I’m a dedicated swim coach with 10 years of experience helping swimmers build stronger, faster, and more efficient strokes. I specialize in improving technique through clear, simple coaching that helps you understand why a movement matters and how to fix it. Whether you’re a competitive swimmer, triathlete, or an adult swimmer wanting to level up your stroke mechanics, I focus on body position, timing, power production, and efficient movement patterns so you can swim confidently and see real progress in the water.
I competed Division I at UCLA, where I swam for four years and served as team captain. I was a four-time Scholastic All-American and part of a highly competitive Pac-12 program. I’ve loved the water since I was a kid, and that lifelong passion for swimming is what inspires me to help others feel stronger, faster, and more confident in the pool.
I work with athletes virtually to fully understand their triathlon goals, current experience level, and specific swim challenges. Using detailed video analysis, I assess stroke mechanics, body position, breathing, timing, and overall efficiency. Every piece of feedback is tailored to the individual, with corrections broken down into clear, actionable adjustments that align with the athlete’s ability and race objectives.
Based on this assessment, I design fully customized swim practices that strategically address technique development, endurance, pacing, and confidence in the water. Training plans are built to meet athletes where they are and progress them efficiently toward their goals. Each program also includes a structured, race-specific taper to optimize performance, improve speed, and ensure athletes feel prepared, fresh, and confident on race day.
