More About Coach Raydarius
I bring 2 years of hands-on coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels, backed by a full decade of competitive playing experience that informs every drill, correction, and mindset I instill in my athletes. I began my coaching career as Defensive Line Coach at Northside High School in Pinetown, North Carolina, where I shaped athletes from the freshman squad all the way through varsity, drilling in precise technique, in-depth film study, and the unbreakable toughness needed to win battles in the trenches while developing players across every position on the field. That early success quickly earned me my current position as Defensive Line Coach at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNC Pembroke), where I train Conference Carolina student-athletes every day—sharpening advanced pass-rush skills, run-defense anchors, and full-speed game preparation to ensure a smooth transition from high school to college ball. As a former collegiate defensive lineman and Academic All-American at both Chowan University and UNC Pembroke, I draw straight from my own ten-year playing journey to provide real-world, position-agnostic training that fits any spot on the roster. I regularly train athletes ranging from 8th graders to high school standouts, college recruits, and those eyeing the pros through private sessions, small-group work, or complete team clinics. My proven method consistently turns out explosive, technically precise players who dominate with superior leverage, violent hand usage, and relentless mentality—no matter the position or age group. Whether we’re laying youth foundations or running college-intensity game-speed reps, every athlete walks away sharper, stronger, and fully equipped to compete and win at the next level.
I competed as a collegiate level as a defensive lineman, first at Chowan University (CIAA) and then transferring to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) in the Mountain East Conference—no professional career, but a decorated Division II journey that still impacts how I coach today. My on-field résumé includes 2× All-Conference honors in both the CIAA and Mountain East Conference, two Academic All-American selections, FCS Bowl MVP, and Transfer All-American recognition also playing in the FBS Bowl game. I was also named 2× Top D-II Defensive Lineman in the nation by TheCFBNetwork, earned 2× team captain stripes at both Chowan and UNCP, and was voted Team MVP at UNCP in 2023. Across my career I posted 161 total tackles, 40.5 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles—stats built on violent hands, elite leverage, and a nonstop motor that consistently disrupted offensive lines. Those experiences—from freshman reps at Chowan all the way to leading UNCP’s defensive front—gave me the real-world blueprint I now pass on to every athlete I train, whether they’re an 8th-grader learning stance fundamentals or a college prospect polishing game-speed pass-rush moves. Every drill I run is rooted in the same proven techniques and mentality that earned me those honors.
A typical session with me would last 60–90 minutes (depending on whether it’s a 1-on-1, small group, or team setting) and is built around one core philosophy: technique first, explosion second, mentality always. I don’t just “work athletes out”—I develop complete football players across every position on the field who dominate with superior leverage, precise hand placement, violent finishes, and relentless effort even when tired or outsized. Every session begins with a quick 5–8 minute assessment: we check how your body feels, review recent game or practice film notes, and lock in one clear daily focus (like winning the first two steps or finishing every rep with explosion). From there we move into 10–12 minutes of targeted movement prep—dynamic mobility, glute activation, plyometrics, and position-specific warm-ups (stance fires for linemen, footwork ladders for skill players, or pursuit angles for linebackers). The heart of the workout is the 25–35 minute technique block, where we break down and progress drills tailored to your role: hand combat and pass-rush moves for the front seven, route releases and separation for receivers/DBs, or tackling and shedding for everyone else. I film nearly every rep and show instant side-by-side feedback so you see the difference between average and dominant. We close with 10–15 minutes of game-speed conditioning—bursts, sled pushes, bag circuits, or pursuit drills—designed to build the mental toughness that separates good players from great ones, followed by a quick cool-down, recap of wins and next-step goals, and personalized homework you can crush at home. You’ll walk away technically sharper, more explosive, and mentally locked in, ready to perform at the next level no matter your position.
