More About Coach Rachel

I'm a USATF Level 2 Endurance and Sprints-Hurdles-Relays certified coach, an RRCA certified coach, and a NASM certified trainer. I've been coaching athletes of all levels and abilities, and across all age groups, for the last 10 years. My experience includes 4 years as head coach for Orange High School (Track & Field and Cross Country), Head Coach of Kids Run the Nation (Cleveland), event coach for high school long jump/high jump, and high school middle distance and XC runners.

My primary focus is on endurance running (800m to ultramarathons). I've coached hundreds of adult athletes to personal records -- both distance and time -- as well as coaching high school cross country. I use my knowledge of experience and my running and training certifications to build programs to make runners more efficient, stronger, and faster.

I've run six marathons, dozens of half marathons and 5Ks, and two ultramarathons (50k). While I've won my age group in several race distances, what I enjoy most is setting new goals for myself, working towards those goals, and accomplishing them. I love running and training others, and coaching is my passion.

With any new client, we will run through a series of questions regarding goals, past experience, past experience with coaches, and several movement assessments. After the initial session, I will develop a plan to include a warm-up, sport-specific drills and dynamic movements, and then the comprehensive event training. I always end each session with a cool-down and static stretching.

I’ve worked with Coach Rachel for a couple years, and as a non-runner she was able to help me run the NYC Marathon! She helped me start basically from scratch to a 5k, half marathon, and then a full marathon. This was all done virtually, as well! She is a great communicator and quickly replies to any questions or issues I had – sometime even mid-run when I had some ailment and didn’t know what to do! I also really like how she can put up the schedule of my runs for the full week and sometimes a few weeks ahead of time, so I can mentally prepare myself and know what’s coming up. All in all I’m super satisfied with Coach Rachel and am already planning to work with her to train once races are back in business!!
