More About Coach Miles

I have been a college football coach for the last 21 years. But also I was a strength & conditioning coach for the last 13 years on the college level. I have my own business where I trained kids, adults from ages 10-60yrs old. I am certified in CPR & First Aid.
Coaching experience-16 years-Div-I
4 years-Div-II
2 years-NAIA
6 years-High School

I was awarded a football scholarship to Ohio University in Athens, OH. A 31/2 yr stater at Defensive End.
I had professional football tryouts with the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and the Toronto Argonauts.

I would do warm-up and stretch routine first, Then next would start on some conditioning drills to get their conditioning up to a level will I feel they are ready to start doing some specific drill work, depending on the sport or what goals we are trying to accomplish. My session usually runs for about 1hr & 15mins.

Awesome trainer good with the kids and knows what he is talking about.

Coach was amazing and excellent on responding quickly. Our first lesson was fantastic, he pushed my son hard but with great attention to detail and reasoning to why he was doing things this way. We are really looking forward to working with coach all summer

Coach Miles has been doing a great job. My boy is motivated and working hard.

We were very impressed with Coach Miles. He evaluated Brett's footwork a lot and worked on his positioning some. Was very pleased with the session.

Coach Miles was a great coach! He was on time and ready to get to work, even in ugly, wet conditions. He was very thorough with his assessment of my player's footwork, agility, and passing form. I believe we are going to gain a lot of knowledge as we continue working with him and implementing his program. Thank you, Coach Miles, for this great opportunity!

My son, Alex, had a great first time experience w/ Coach Miles! It was a good, hard, non stop workout that will definitely be beneficial for football. He's ready for more!

Coach Miles is outstanding!! Professional and passionate about his training. He has been very accommodating with our schedule and location. Every session he's on time and makes every minute count. Within minutes of our first session he recognized areas that need improvement and went straight to work on it! He gives our Son excellent feedback along with encouragement. We highly recommend Coach Miles to anyone who's wanting to take their child's ball game to a next level!

My name is Sheron Harmon also known as Chitown and I played for Prairie View A&M from 2004-2008 as a wide receiver and strong safety. Coach Miles Brandon is one of the best coaches I have ever played for while at Prairie View A&M University. Some coaches have a way of getting the best effort out of their players by way of words but Coach Brandon has a way of getting the best of his players through perseverance and determination. His way of earning his players trust and respect is above none other. He told us to be the best you have to train like you are the best. With these words our Prairie View football, went to worst to first. When coach came to Prairie View we were a mediocre team especially with our fitness and conditioning, but with his vision and leadership with his spring training and summer training workouts we became one of the best conditioned teams in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). We were closing out games in the 4th quarter by maintaining the lead by running down the clock with long time consuming drives on offense and preventing the big plays on the defensive side of the ball. Coach Brandon played a major role with that happening. Coach was not only our strength and conditioning coach but he was our team’s defensive line coach too. He had to balance his time coordinating our workouts and conduct his position meetings and watch film as well. A major task if you asked me, but coach made it seem so easy to do and he did it proud with his head held high. He was always in an encouraging mood by motivating his players to do more. I remember doing bench press at 225lbs I did a few reps and was about to finish but Coach Brandon came leaned over and said, “Chitown, I know you got more rep in you don’t cheat your body of a rep.” But the way he said it to me encouraged me to try another rep and get the most out of my body and I did just that, one more rep! He would always say little things like that to make his players think about what they were doing at the moment and how can it benefit themselves and the team. Coach Brandon demanded excellence and excellence is what he got from his players because we believed in that much. There are many stories like mine where Coach Brandon words were a tool to boost confidence in a player’s morale. Coach Brandon was not only a football coach but he is a motivator and inspiration to others through his words and actions as leader. I am very proud and grateful to have been part of the foundation with Coach Brandon to help restore the tradition of Prairie View A&M football to where it once was! -Thanks Coach Brandon
My name is Austin Nwokobia, a former football player at Prairie View A&M University. I was a student athlete from 2005-2009. Coach Miles Brandon was our strength and conditioning coach during my time there. Coach Brandon was an amazing coach, teacher and mentor. When I stepped on campus we did not have much of a strength and conditioning program. Going into my sophomore year Coach Brandon took over the strength and conditioning program and in my opinion his efforts leading our team in the weight room. Over my 4 seasons at Prairie View I could not think of one team where we not the bigger, stronger and faster team on the field. Coach Bandon wore many hats for us at Prairie View. He was the defensive line coach. This is where he exceled the most. Coach Brandon’s unit was always one of the most over achieving units on the team. Coach consistently produced All-Conference and All-American talent. Coach Brandon has coached several players that could not find time at other positions to wind up having NFL careers. I would always be amazed by how coach was always able to take players who were talented enough to play but could not find a position and coach and teach them to be extremely productive. Over the years I became convinced that there is absolutely no talent that Coach Brandon couldn’t turn in to a success. It goes without saying the Coach Brandon is a phenomenal coach but most importantly he is a great mentor. We have maintained our relationship as I have grown to be an adult. Coach is someone that no only coached football but life lessons as well. I am beyond confident Coach Brandon would be a valuable asset to any staff. Coach is very talented, creative and extremely passionate about his craft. Austin Nwokobia, MSA
This communication is to provide a high recommendation for Coach Miles Brandon, who I have had the pleasure knowing as a Defensive line and Strength and Conditioning coach at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). During my five seasons (2006 through 2011) I serve as Defensive lineman, I witnessed Coach Brandon become an excellent coach, mentor, and father figure to all athletes. I found him to be a man of the highest moral caliber. We all may know, the universal goal of being a collegiate football coach is to win games, although, so much more is incorporated. Among some of the responsibilities he executed there was one that surpassed all others; overseeing, advising and nurturing student’s athletic abilities but more importantly academic progress. More specifically, Coach Brandon’s vital role within the PVAMU’s football program was inclusive but not limited to intervening and teaching student athletes how to better cope in today’s society. Whether we as athletes become frustrated with our classes, personal problems, and/or given expectations for which we were responsible for following, Coach Brandon’s organization, dedication, reliability, and student-centered approach to coaching, served as a great example for young student-athletes. Coach Brandon does a great job in this regard and his attention to detail when it comes to building character and a strong work ethic. It was through Coach Brandon’s strength and conditioning program that I not learned mental toughness for the football field, life, and the challenges that are presented daily. Coach Brandon, taught me never to quit and always strive to be better than your next opponent. Furthermore, Coach Brandon in my opinion has an unbelievable gift as a coach. He has been the main channel in which PVAMU football stars feed into the NFL. Most players Coach Brandon received were offensive players whose defensive success became his new project. Despite the challenges of coaching, persistence can always yield the most out of his players and produced traits of instant leaders that continue to be replicated through Coach Brandon’s efforts at the Prairie View A&M University. In closing, without reservation, I highly commend and recommend Mr. Miles Brandon to be strongly considered as a candidate for the position in which he is applying. I have every expectation that, if hired, Mr. Miles Brandon will be an asset to your institution. Sincerely, Dalvin Nettles
Dwayne Chappell While I attended Prairie View A&M Coach Brandon was my defensive line, strength and conditioning coach. He always had a passion for the game of football and expected his players to play with that same passion he showed with coaching. He was a phenomenal defensive line coach with countless pass rush moves to teach his players. While under his wing it seemed like everyday we had a new move to learn and add to our arsenal. He believed that the only way we will get better is through repetition. He could come up with a drill in a matter of seconds with limited supplies and still promise a good workout. During the games he was a calm storm. He always kept us focused on the game and made sure that we were in a position that we were comfortable so we could play our best. He really understood the game of football and how to be a defensive lineman. The weight room wasn't any different for Coach Brandon he loved being in the weight room just as much as he loved being on the field. I was always a pretty strong kid but when I came to Prairie View A&M, Coach Brandon push me to another level. He showed me what my strength and my weaknesses where in the weight room. How I needed to work on my power cleans a little more than my bench, how I needed to work on my core a lot more. He had just as much savvy in the weight as he did on the field. Coach Brandon's passion didn't just end there he also had a passion for the players that he coached he wanted us to be able to come and talk to him with any problems that we had. Being a college football coach is hard and you have to be able to understand that these young guys are going through a lot of changes in their lives. Some of these kids come from bad areas or lived in single-parent homes and a lot of times they ask their coach for advice with situations that they deal with as a men. Coach Brandon has always been able to be that voice or that advice that I needed when I was in a bad situation. He never turned his back on me and he always stay positive. No matter the situation Coach Brandon is a good person. He's a great defensive lineman coach, a more than qualified strength and conditioning coach and he has a passion like no other for the game of football. There are not a lot of dedicated coaches like Coach Miles Brandon and I can honestly say that it has been a blessing to be coached by Coach Brandon.
