More About Coach Michael
I am a certified personal trainer who has trained athletes from various sports. These athletes ranged from the junior high school level to the semi-professional level and we would work on their athletic performance, strength, conditioning, and sport specific skills.
My coaching experience consists of coaching various age groups in basketball camps, middle school soccer in Peru, and one on one training with basketball players aged 11 to 28. I have a bachelors degree in kinesiology, a fitness trainer certification through NESTA, and a Healthcare Provider certification through AHA.
Outside of my participation in city leagues throughout my life, my personal athletic career consists of four years of varsity basketball, four years of varsity baseball, one year of varsity volleyball, one year of varsity cross country, and one year of middle school club soccer in Costa Rica.
Some of my athletic accomplishments and awards consist:
-CIF basketball champion in the Southern Section, California
-Two league titles with my high school baseball team
-One league title with my high school basketball team
-Two time All-League Player Award in baseball
-Three time All-Tournament Player Award in baseball
-One time All-League Player Award in basketball
It is also worthy to note that I was in line to play Division 2 college baseball in Ohio, but was deterred from injuries and health conditions and did not continue.
I treat every client different. Everyone is at a different stage in their fitness and athletic capability and I treat it as such. I spend the first meeting getting to know my clients so I can failure a plan specifically for them. My greatest desire is to see my clients succeed and that is why I spend hours putting together the perfect plan. My plans include foundational training, strength training, endurance training, sport specific training, athletic performance and skill enhancement training. With me, clients feel like they aren't only getting in better shape, but they are becoming better at their sport because of the drills and stages of training we go through.
