More About Coach Kyle
I have hands-on experience coaching youth and recreational athletes, primarily in basketball and flag football, including coaching for Matt Leinart’s Flag Football teams and working as a referee. I’ve also led numerous after-school programs and summer camps focused on basketball and flag football, where I worked with kids and teens of all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced players. Most of my coaching has been at the youth and recreational league level, emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. While I don’t currently hold formal industry certifications, I bring real-world coaching and program leadership experience along with a strong commitment to helping athletes improve both on and off the field.
I was a recruited football player out of high school with multiple Division I offers and went on to play football at the United States Air Force Academy. Competing at this level taught me the value of discipline, resilience, and teamwork, which I carry into my coaching. My background as a Division I–level athlete allows me to bring first-hand experience, high-level training insights, and a competitive edge to the athletes I work with.
In a typical session, clients can expect a mix of skill development, conditioning, and game-specific drills tailored to their sport and goals. I start with a proper warm-up and mobility work to get the athlete ready, then move into fundamentals such as footwork, agility, and sport-specific techniques—whether that’s passing routes and defensive positioning in football or ball handling, shooting form, and defensive drills in basketball. I incorporate competitive, game-like situations to build decision-making under pressure, while also focusing on conditioning to improve endurance and explosiveness. Each session ends with feedback and adjustments so the athlete not only gets a workout but also leaves with clear takeaways to keep improving outside of training.
