More About Coach Kennedy

In 2017 I played and coached football in Germany for the Hamburg Huskies in the GFL 1, the highest level of football in Germany at the time. In the Fall of 2018, I coached the defensive backs at Sam Barlow High School in Oregon where we recorded 13 interceptions as a defense and had 3 defensive backs (1 Senior, 1 Junior, 1 Sophomore) selected to the all-league team. I assisted coaching the wide receivers, a group that also had 3 players selected to the all-league team.
In 2019-2020 I was coaching the wide receivers at Thiel College, a Division III school in Pennsylvania. My time here was cut short due to the COVID shut downs.
Since then, I have been taking personal training and sport specific clients in Oregon and Arizona. Recently moved back to Oregon, hoping to help athletes reach their full potential!

Utilizing a wide range of modalities to improve athletic performance, sessions with me can vary from field training (ex. ladder drills, sprints, plyometrics, etc.) to resistance training (ex. barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell, etc.).

Typical Session Outline: Dynamic/functional warmup (10-20min)—> Speed/agility/strength/skills training (20-30min)—> Core/cool-down/stretch (5-15min)

I take a comprehensive approach to coaching and training. We all process and learn things in different ways, my goal is to figure out how to teach each individual in the best way that helps them to learn and improve as both an athlete.
Athletes need to understand why they are doing certain movements/drills and how they apply to the field.
I focus on fundamentals and teaching the proper movement patterns first, even if that means slowing down in order to get the movement right.
It's all about progression. Start simple and increase intensity, difficulty, speed, etc., as the athlete learns the technique.
