More About Coach Katherine

Work in physical therapy research as my day job. Passionate about prescribing movement. Graduated with a Master's degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton. Graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science. My emphasis is in biomechanics and fitness, with a minor in nutrition and concentration in strength and conditioning. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). I am a certified group exercise and group cycling (spinning) instructor. Certified in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) as well as basic life support (CPR/AED/First Aid).

Played competitive collegiate tennis. Participated in competitive soccer throughout high school and intramural soccer throughout college. Studied and trained strength and conditioning, actively lift and workout to stay in shape, coach and train others to improve in sport performance. Instructed and coached resistance training to undergraduate and graduate students at Cal State Fullerton, assisted with S&C for the Women's Golf Team, and work as a movement specialist.

In my free time I enjoy surfing, skiing, hiking, tennis, pick up sports of all kinds and weight training.

Session plan will vary depending on the athlete working with. Treat each client as an athlete and like to train them to succeed and reach all of their goals. Able to adapt all programming to meet wants and needs of the trainee.

I have experience training and coaching with various technologies such as GPS/motion load, HR trackers and Athos (monitoring muscular stress). Will adapt the session to address your goals - whether to feel better, overcome an injury, improve in sport, have fun - let's get you going!

In addition to movement patterns, I like to teach and coach athletes in other areas of wellness including nutrition, mental performance, sleep and more.
