More About Coach Katelyn
I have experience coaching distance runners from the 800m to the half marathon. I coached high school cross country and track and field, volunteer coached for a middle school team, and was the president of Running Club at my university. I have worked with runners new to the sport of all ages and experienced runners with goals of running for a D1 scholarship. I place great emphasis on injury prevention while pushing runners to their limits to see them excel. My greatest accomplishments are two injury-free seasons and coaching two runners to the Virginia State Meet. Other runners that season went from a 6:00 mile to under 5:30. Outside of high school runners, I drafted a plan for a new runner to finish a half marathon in just eight weeks. That same year, I worked with a runner to complete a half-marathon in under 1:30:00 I thoroughly enjoy all levels of coaching and working with anyone who shares my passion for running.
Completed over 10 half marathons, 1 full marathon, and I'm training for number 2. I especially love trail races and won my age group in a 15-mile trail race in Letchworth State Park. Two league championships in high school and attended an invitation-only camp at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid. I was recruited to a D1 school in Western New York but after a concussion and a series of injuries, I chose to not continue on with the program past the first season and took over the running club after my first year.
In the first session, I would draft a 1-3 month plan. We would review drills and dynamic stretching and take a look at your form.
