More About Coach Jo
With over 10 years of coaching experience, I’ve trained athletes at every level—from youth sports to NFL veterans. I currently serve as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at De La Salle High School, where I work with a wide range of athletes, including state champions and nationally ranked prospects. I coach all ages and specialize in developing athletic performance through individualized biomechanics assessments, movement efficiency, and strength programming. I hold a Master’s degree and am NSCA-CSCS certified.
I was a walk-on turned scholarship athlete at Azusa Pacific. I then used my film to get me into Sacramento State, where I played Division I football after graduating from Azusa. At De La Salle, I was part of an undefeated, nationally #1 ranked team. These experiences shaped my dedication, resilience, and deep understanding of elite-level performance.
Each session begins with a biomechanics assessment to address movement quality and injury prevention. Having recovered from an ACL tear myself, I focus heavily on durability—because availability is the best ability. From there, we progress into running mechanics, fluid movement drills, and structured weight training, including Olympic lifts taught with an emphasis on proper form and technique. Every session is tailored to the athlete’s goals and current capabilities.
