More About Coach Javon
With over 20 years of personal training experience, I have helped clients of all ages achieve their fitness and health goals. This includes helping individuals to lose weight, achieve muscle growth, and improve strength, speed and agility for youth, collegiate and professional athletes. Due to my expertise and knowledge, I can create a workout for any sport. A few client accomplishments include: improving their tennis rankings, advancing to a higher division basketball program, and placing in the top 10, twice, at the Olympia bodybuilding competition.
As a youth, I played a number of sports such as basketball and football and practiced martial arts. As an adult, I've focused on strength training.
At the start of every session, I do a check-in with my clients to see how things are going and ask if they are experiencing any pain. If they are, I adjust the workout accordingly or if needed, reschedule. I will never push an athlete through a workout and risk an injury simply because I've already planned a workout. The same goes for if a client is tired. While I have had athletes attempt to ‘push through’ tiredness, I believe that to achieve optimal results, you must be well rested.
Following the check-in, if the client is good to go, we proceed with the workout. While no two workouts are the same, common to every session is that I: tailor the workout to the athlete's specific sport and goals and I often incorporate unique movements to target specific muscles. While they may seem odd at first, ultimately, they help an athlete improve in their sport.
