More About Coach Jalen

I have experience coaching and developing quarterbacks at multiple levels, with my highest level of coaching being at the collegiate level. I served as a Graduate Assistant at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where I worked directly with quarterbacks on mechanics, decision-making, film study, and overall development within a competitive team environment.

In addition to my collegiate experience, I train quarterbacks of all age groups—from youth athletes just learning the fundamentals to high school players looking to elevate their performance and prepare for the next level. My training focuses on building strong fundamentals, improving throwing mechanics, increasing football IQ, and developing confidence on and off the field.

I competed at the collegiate level, beginning my career at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where I had a record-setting tenure as a quarterback. I set the single-season passing record with 3,276 yards, along with the single-game passing record of 411 yards. I also set the program’s single-season completion percentage record at 73%. During my time there, I helped lead the team to both a conference championship and a regional championship.

Following my success at Lenoir-Rhyne, I transferred to Campbell University to compete at the Division I level for my final season, gaining experience at a higher level of competition.

These accomplishments reflect my ability to perform at a high level, lead a team, and execute consistently as a quarterback.

A typical session with me is built from the ground up, because that’s where great quarterback play starts. We begin by developing a strong foundation—focusing on your base, balance, and footwork. You’ll learn how to properly generate power from the ground, using your legs and hips to create torque so your upper body can stay relaxed and efficient through the throwing motion.

From there, we lock in throwing mechanics. I emphasize smooth, repeatable mechanics that improve accuracy, consistency, and arm efficiency. Every rep is intentional, helping you build muscle memory so your motion becomes natural and reliable under pressure.

As the session progresses, we move into more dynamic drills. This includes movement-based throwing, pocket awareness, and drills that simulate real game situations. I incorporate decision-making segments where you’re forced to read, react, and think quickly—because playing quarterback is just as much mental as it is physical.

You can also expect high-intensity portions of the workout designed to challenge both your body and your mind. These segments push you to stay sharp, make quick decisions, and execute while fatigued—just like in a real game.

We finish by reinforcing fundamentals and reviewing key takeaways so you leave each session knowing exactly what you improved on and what to focus on next.
