More About Coach Hunter
I am a branch in a coaching tree that reaches the top of the business. I played for/worked with multiple coaches who are currently in the SEC or NFL.
I know what it takes to get there, but more importantly, I know the technique they will teach you once they get there.
My specialty is pass protection, especially 1 on 1 pass rush. My technique in this area is NFL caliber and that is not conjecture, it is simply the case.
Am I an NFL caliber coach? Of course not.
But I am a good teacher, and I *will* make you better in pass pro, no matter your skill level.
That being said, I can also teach pass rush technique to at least a D1 level.
I also specialize in tight-end, specifically run-blocking, route-running, pre-snap reads, etc. played the position most of my career and had a Bengals hall of famer as a position coach.
D1 FCS (pre-NIL) started at right tackle and tight end for Southeastern Louisiana. Played from 2010-2014 when I was injured in my redshirt-junior season.
My college career was fairly interesting, I played tight-end all my career before college, but I went to a high school that didn’t throw at all, Liberty Hill. I was recruited to Southeastern as an undersized but athletic RT to run Chip Kelly’s hurry-up offense. I became a starter my redshirt freshman year, but the team itself didn’t do well. The head coach was flat out not good. He is a good position coach, is currently at Southwestern Oklahoma, but he was a quite poor head coach.
He did however know how to hire O-line coaches, apparently, because my position coach and mentor is an absolute guru. I do not want to name drop him, feel free to ask.
To give you an example, the first team let up 12 sacks in a season, I think. Something like that, maybe 16.
That season I started again Sam Houston, who still zero blitzes every down to this day, and we gave up two sacks. Sam Houston lost in the championship that year.
Tl;dr I will make you a better football player, in almost any circumstance, but especially if you’re trying to get better at pass pro, run blocking, route running, or pass rush technique.
We start from the ground up, and the first 10 mins will almost always be the same (if we’re talking OL/DL/TE work).
If you’re after conditioning, we can do that, but I wouldn’t suggest paying me for it. I am not going to “work you out.” Offensive line play, especially pass protection, is a mind-game. I will teach you to outthink your opponent, and I will teach you the technique to beat him 1v1 (or even if he and his goons try a twist).
