More About Coach Gina
I have been running and coaching on the highest levels for over 30 years. I won the Olympic trials in the women's steeplechase in '92. I won USAT&F Championship in '94, and got 5th in the Goodwill Games in '94. I was an All-American at the University of Tennessee. I ran under Missy Kane (1500m Olympian 1984) and Dorothy Doolittle (Head Track & Field Olympic Coach 1984). I then ran under William Freeman (Assistant to Bowerman of Oregon) after college. I have coached on the Division 1 collegiate level, high school level, and private coaching.

An athlete will show up and run a couple laps on the track to warm up. We then will do dynamic stretching and drills, and maybe some static stretching. They would then run a workout or do a distance or recovery run. There are 3 phases of each season. I coach XC, Indoor, and Outdoor track. Each season has 3 phases; Phase 1 - longer intervals, conditioning, strengthening; Phase 2 - continue with strengthening and conditioning, but begin working on some pacing and speed; 3rd Phase is heading toward peaking and however long we need to keep it. We ebb and flow with peaking and keeping conditioning depending on how long their championship season is.
