More About Coach Gilbert
While I haven't held formal coaching positions, I’ve mentored younger athletes and teammates, helping them improve their technique, strength, and performance. I work primarily with middle school and high school athletes, tailoring programs to their goals and competition levels. While I don’t currently hold industry certifications, I am well-versed in creating training plans emphasizing proper form and injury prevention.
I played NCAA Division I FCS football for four years at Davidson College as an interior offensive lineman. During my career, I played in over 30 games and contributed to one of the nation’s top rushing offenses. I earned multiple All-Pioneer Football League honors at both Center and Guard. With my final year of eligibility, I transferred to Villanova University, contributing to a 2nd Round FCS playoff run.
Each session will begin with an intensive warmup as a method of injury prevention. The drills of each session will cater to the athletes skill level and position. Each day will begin with fundamental work, emphasizing footwork, hand placement, and body positioning. We will then progress from the fundamentals to play specific drills catering to either pass blocking or run blocking.
