More About Coach Ethan

I have been running sessions through CoachUp since 2017 and have worked with elementary through college aged athletes. I previously worked at my former high school as a football strength and conditioning, as well as wide receivers coaching 9th-12th graders. During college I routinely assisted in coaching wide receivers at youth and high school football camps on campus through my school and in the area with local coaches and organizations like NFL Play60.

Before working with a new athlete I like to talk through goals and areas they want to improve on. I want to cater your sessions to you and will work hard to make sure you get the most out of working with me.

To name a few things, areas I specialize in and like to focus on include footwork and agility, releases, catching, vision, route running and more, all while working to build confidence on the field and an attitude that you can’t be stopped and will dominate whoever is across from you.

Your feet are such an important part of your game, in so many ways, and I like to start with a number of drills to develop your feet and the quick twitch fibers to help with reaction time and movement so you can create separation.
This is an area of the game that can often be overlooked and is something I see as a key difference maker in performance, especially as a receiver.

In addition to your ability to get open, as a pass catcher, your hands and eyes are what set you apart. For that, I have of drills to help you adapt and adjust your body, hands and eyes to different situations because I want you to be able to know you can catch everything thrown your direction.

I view route running as an art and always took pride in the detail of each one I ran. I want to teach you to do the same, because this truly is a game of milliseconds. The adjustments and moves I can teach you to make in practice are what can create that split second differential between a big play for you and a big play for your opponent. Every rep and step you take matters.

Every drill I run with an athlete is one that I routinely did myself during my playing career. From experience, I know what works and what doesn’t work to help you excel on game days, week in and week out.
While I am a firm believer in repetition and will run a few of the same drills each session, we will continue to learn and grow together. I love to hear feedback on sessions, as well as feedback on how well things are translating to your practices and games. Each session we will continue to develop your skills and add new tools to your tool belt. While I have a rough plan I like to follow with athletes, no one is the same and I will tailor everything to you and what we establish you need and want to work on.

If you ever have questions about my experience, or sessions, please shoot me a message and we can talk further details. Always available and happy to talk details!
