More About Coach Eric

I have been a coach for 4 years. I have worked with young athletes from the elementary school level to the high school level. Mostly worked for APT speed located in Coconut Creek. I have had the privilege of coaching kids from ages of 8 all the way to 16 years old. I have BSE in exercise science and health promotions from Florida Atlantic University,CFSC (certified functional strength coach)LEVEL 1, CSCS(certified strength & conditioning specialist) from the NSCA ,TRX suspension training certified. FMS level 1( functional movement screen). Certificate of nutrition from Shaw Academy.

I played soccer all my life till i was 14. Played travel soccer and then changed sports to basketball where I played 2 years of JV basketball, and 2 years of varsity.

Always start with foam rolling to warm up the play doe. mobility work which is a better modality and a form of static stretching which is why we warm up the play doe through foam rolling and the mobility work helps us mold our muscles better to get into better moving positions. Very lightly do some corrective/activation exercises which teach you how to move your body and have the proper muscular sequencing to move well and prevent injuries. We then finish with thorough dynamic warm up. Depending on the athlete I contour the session and we fix that through corrective exercises. Every athlete has strengths and weaknesses so we work on identifying the issue and using proper exercise selection to correct, protect and develop and we use the functional movement screen to identify that. We teach good movement and proper functioning patterns that apply to all movement in all sports. Technique execution is important and also building strong fundamentals in good movement patterns are crucial to building good habits before we begin to load athletes. We start with base exercises and have progressions and regressions to accommodate all kids with all types of training age. Curriculum is Jump, run and sprint because thats what we do in sports and develops that athletic quality we want to improve in athletes then 3 base Lower body exercises with 3 base core exercises, as we get better the exercises change and become appropriately challenging. This is A MUCH SMARTER approach to progressionally get stronger while learning to move in a more efficient and healthier manner. Last two sets will be a push and a pull. If we have time we usually touch some aspect of their sports and work on bettering that sport specific skill. we foam roll to finish static stretch throughly and know we got better with coach Eric.

Coach Eric is an experienced coach and it was obvious during my son' s first session with him.
