More About Coach Erica

I have been a coach for the past 8 years. I began as a High School Assistant Track Coach, then Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach. I have been fortunate to play an instrumental roll in growth and development of the Track and Cross Country programs at the schools I have coached. I have developed students from beginners to State-caliber student-athletes, some of whom went on to compete in college at the NCAA Division I and II levels.

As a Certified Running Coach through USATF, RRCA, and REVO2LUTION RUNNING, as well as a CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) I train a variety of clients of all levels from individual to small/big group training. I have also trained and taught group bootcamp classes and HIIT training classes. I currently train runners and non-runners and specialize in creating customized strength plans.

I love the sport almost as much as I love helping others get to the next level and achieve their goals! I currently coach athletes in distances ranging from the 5K to the marathon, ultra marathons and the running/strength part of triathlons. I have helped numerous athletes achieve Boston Qualifying times, as well as Personal Records!

I competed in 4 years of NCAA Division I Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track at the University of Central Florida and was part of the first Conference USA Championship Winning team in school history! I competed in 5K and 3,000-meter steeplechase. After college, I competed in road races, while transitioning into the marathon. I have competed in 12 marathons, was the RRCA Western Regional Championship winner and 1st place finisher in the Napa Valley Marathon in 2017. In 2019 I qualified for the USA Olympic Trials Marathon with a time of 2:41:54 (6:10/mile). I competed at the Olympic Trials in February 2020.

I like to have a consultation with each prospective client, either in person or on facetime/zoom. Here we will determine the clients goals and how we can work together to achieve them, while staying healthy. I take into account all aspects of the client's history including past injuries, experience, schedule and training. Then, whether it is in-person, online training, or both we will work together. The client will find their training plans, uploaded weekly or bi-weekly via FinalSurge. I will be able to track the client's progress through their smart watch, FinalSurge, and/or Strava and adjust accordingly.

Coach Erica was a great advocate for running overall. She took the time to understand my current ability, as well as goals, both short and long term going forward. Her knowledge in all three phases of running (warming up, the set, and cool down) was spot on. You leave the session with a path toward improvement and excitement to put in the work. Lastly, her knowledge goes beyond running. A really good understanding of fitness, nutrition, and yoga. This makes her a good coach and resource.

Erica was our son’s first distance coach. He’s been running for less than 2 years but has excelled quickly. She taught him how to run properly, focus on form, to listen to his body, and most of all she encouraged him through the learning process and the training!
