More About Coach Donnie
I have coached and trained athletes for over 30 years. My coaching career started during my junior year in high school where I coached an 8 & under basketball team. Since then, I have coached and trained athletes at the elementary level through the professional level. I currently work with athletes and teams that compete at the college level and below, focusing on skills that align with football.
During my athletic career I played football, basketball, baseball and competed in track & field. As a high school student, I was all-state in track & field and all-state and all-American as a quarterback in football where I held the national record for passing yards in a season. After my senior high school football season, I was named to multiple all-American teams and was ranked as high as the #1 quarterback in the country by some publications. I went on to play quarterback at the Division 1 level in a Power 5 conference followed by 7 years of professional football.
My training sessions are set up to be efficient and productive in nature. I start with a conversation with the guardian(s) about what the goal(s) are for their athlete. I then do an assessment of the athletes current abilities and skill set. From there, I put together a detailed training plan that we will follow with the understanding that the plan is always subject to change pending the progress of the athlete. I also have certain asks of the guardians that should be followed as the plan is implemented in order to maximize the athlete's experience.
