More About Coach Donald

I have been involved in football for the last 45 years either as a player or as a coach. I have coached at all levels of the game from youth leagues, to high school football and college to the minor leagues with the PDFL to assistant coaching with CFL and Arena Football events. I have worked as a head coach, assistant coach, offensive and defensive coordinator as well as a trainer on various leagues, levels and organizations. I have also owned my own personal football training company where I had coached athletes at all levels to improve the caliber of their game. I work with athletes in the age ranges from 11 years old to 22 year old. I specialize in quarterbacks, receivers, and defensive backs.

I have had the honor of working with former NFL players and their children. Organizing and running youth camps with NFL players and recruiters for national colleges. Have won 4 league championships and was runner-up another year. I have worked with many outstanding players and were able to bring them to the next level as many athletes through my training have gone on to the CFL, arena football leagues and have received scholarships.

A typical session will be based on the specific athlete, their experience as well as their position; these are extremely important aspects of how each individual athlete will be trained. Taking these things into account will then allow me as a coach to apply certain specifics to that individual such as catching, throwing, putting the ball away, protecting themselves and the ball, correct angles for running pass routes, how to run a correct pass route, how to lineup, get off the line, etc.

The trained athlete is an athlete interested in perfecting and improving their game. The best of the best recognize that there’s always room for improvement. That’s why as a coach I apply our “Six Point Training Method” - TECHNIQUE, CONDITIONING, SPEED TRAINING, AGILITY TRAINING, STRENGTH TRAINING and ENDURANCE TRAINING. These various training groups help to build an athlete which is well rounded, strong and aggressive in their specific position. This training in-turn will help to give our athletes the athletic advantage they need to compete at the highest level possible.

1. Technique Training -Technique is the forgotten must in training. It is the ability regardless of position to be able to outperform and out think your opponent. Technique is all about perfecting the player’s position which will give him the advantage in the game.

2. Conditioning Training - Conditioning is the ability to physically prepare a player regardless of his position. Conditioning will build the stamina and endurance required to last the game but also to continue to excel at and beyond that level throughout the game.

3. Speed Training - Speed training is working with the athlete through various exercises to help build and improve his speed. Speed will only help an athlete to increase his ability and competitiveness on the field and a must to excel in the sport.

4. Agility Training - Agility training helps to improve an athlete’s balance, coordination, speed, reflexes, as well as strength and endurance. Agility training makes the athlete quick on his feet allowing him to change direction quickly and effectively

5. Strength Training - Strength training is the use of various exercises specializing in the use of resistance. These training exercises will in-turn increase an athlete’s physical power helping to make him stronger than his opponent.

6. Endurance Training - Endurance Training helps build the athletes stamina and endurance levels. This will be applied through various exercises. An athlete that is well conditioned and has high endurance levels tends to execute technique more consistently and effectively with less physical effort.
