More About Coach Dennis
I bring more than 14 years of track and field coaching experience, including extensive work with the Chicagoland Zephyrs Track Club and more than three years coaching at the high school level within Proviso Township, Illinois. I have coached athletes ranging from ages 5 to 18 and have helped develop more than 19 All-Americans and three national champions.
I am also the co-founder of Zephyrs Strength & Performance (ZSP), where we focus on speed, strength, power, movement efficiency, and overall athletic development. Through ZSP, I have worked with athletes across multiple sports to improve performance, build confidence, and prepare them to compete at a higher level.
Following H.S. I went on to continue my track experience as a double sport athlete at Carthage College as a jumper, sprinter and football player. As a competitive track athlete at the collegiate level, I was a top 10 triple jumper in the nation for NCAA Division III schools. My accomplishments include 1 time CCIW conference champion in the triple and Long jumps, 3 time CCIW All-Conference, and many top finishes at competitive meets over my tenure. Notwithstanding, I believe that my athletic accomplishments has no barren on how I approach developing today's athletes. I believe it is critically important for coaches to love the sport and to invest the time to learn all there is to know about training theory, coaching mental performance, and caring for your athlete well beyond the field of play. This is what I will bring to every athlete that chooses to grant me the opportunity to be their coach.
In person training for track and field performance is 60 min duration. If we are working strength training as a component of training tact on an additional 30 - 45 min depending on the location. Each athlete is different, so before I implement a plan, I would like to understand the goals you have and I will conduct an assessment, the outcome of which will be used to factor into the development of your tailored training plan. Once we have a plan, a workout will begin with a warm-up that takes up to 30 min, followed by 25 - 30M of specific training on the area targeted for development. If there is a strength training component this will follow the work out.

Client Reviews
Nieasha (CoachUp client)
Coach Robinson is a great coach to work with. During the short period of time my son trained with him, my son has gained more confident in his skills and performance.

Coach Dennis did an excellent job training my son. He was encouraging and had a well-thought-out plan. So far, there has been only one session, but we look forward to working with him more.
Daniel - State Champion (Testimonial)
Before joining ZSP, I struggled with power and running form. This program has helped me to maximize my power while maintaining good form which has played a significant role in my success as one of the top track athletes in the state! As I go into my last season of high school I intend to carry on with the technique and the values ZSP has instilled in me.
Trevor - All American Long Jumper (Testimonial)
I had no idea what to expect when I joined ZSP my freshman year. What I experienced was a group of talented, kind and compassionate coaches that really cared about me as an athlete and a person. The training I received pushed me to a new level of competition. I qualified for the Junior Olympics and became an All American athlete in long jump and an All State Long jumper in high school...I would highly recommend it for any child at any age and skill level. -Trevor
