More About Coach Darius

I have five years of experience coaching high school varsity football, with a strong focus on strength and conditioning, position-specific skill development, and overall athletic performance. My coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, accountability, and mental toughness while helping athletes build strength, speed, and confidence that translate to on-field performance. In addition to varsity football, I have experience working with youth athletes, where I focus on foundational movement patterns, coordination, and safe technique, as well as college-bound athletes, where training emphasizes performance readiness, higher-level expectations, and habits that translate to the next level.
My coaching experience has taken place in school-based and structured team environments, including practice fields, weight rooms, and off-season training programs. I am comfortable coaching both group sessions and individualized training while prioritizing safety, progressive development, and injury-prevention awareness.
I typically work with athletes ranging from youth through high school varsity and college-prep age groups, adapting my coaching style to meet the developmental needs, experience levels, and maturity of each athlete.

I competed in organized football through the high school level, where I developed a strong foundation in athletic performance, discipline, and team leadership. While I did not compete at the collegiate or professional level, my experience as a multi-year varsity football player gave me firsthand exposure to high-level training environments, game preparation, and competitive standards.

My athletic accomplishments are best reflected through consistency, durability, and coachability—earning varsity playing time, contributing in multiple roles, and being trusted in competitive situations. I gained recognition from coaches for my work ethic, physical toughness, and willingness to take coaching and improve.

These experiences, combined with my five years of coaching high school varsity football, allow me to relate directly to athletes, understand their challenges, and effectively translate performance principles into practical, results-driven training.

A client can expect a structured, high-energy, and purpose-driven training session that emphasizes proper technique, effort, and measurable improvement. Every session is organized, efficient, and tailored to the athlete’s age, position, and training goals. A typical session begins with a dynamic warm-up and movement prep, focusing on mobility, activation, and injury prevention. This includes drills such as dynamic stretching, hip and ankle mobility, core activation, and basic movement patterns like skipping, lunging, and sprint mechanics to prepare the body for training. From there, we move into speed, agility, and footwork work, depending on the athlete and the day’s focus. This may include ladder drills, cone drills, change-of-direction work, acceleration starts, and position-specific movement to develop explosiveness, balance, and body control. he main portion of the session is strength and power training, where I emphasize proper lifting technique, controlled progression, and football-specific movements. Exercises typically include compound lifts such as squats, deadlifts, presses, and Olympic-style movements (or age-appropriate variations), along with accessory work to build core strength, stability, and injury resistance.
For football athletes, I also incorporate position-specific drills and conditioning, focusing on stance and start, hand placement, pad level, leverage, tackling form (when appropriate), and conditioning that mirrors game demands rather than random cardio. Each session finishes with conditioning, recovery work, and coaching feedback. Conditioning is purposeful and sport-specific, followed by cooldown stretching and mobility. I also take time to coach mindset, reinforce habits, and review what the athlete did well and where they can improve.
Throughout the session, I prioritize communication, accountability, and safety. Athletes are coached every rep, not just run through drills. The goal is to develop stronger, faster, more confident athletes who understand why they’re doing each movement—not just how.

Client Reviews

As a parent, it means everything to see your child grow not only as an athlete, but as a person. Since training with Darius, my son has gained confidence, discipline, and a stronger work ethic. The training is structured, challenging, and focused on proper technique and accountability. We’ve seen real improvement in strength, speed, and overall performance, but what stands out most is how much Darius genuinely cares about the athletes he works with. I highly recommend him to any parent looking for quality training and positive mentorship
