More About Coach Curtis
I have coached the sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, and distance for the past 9 years - all skill levels. As a former collegiate & professional decathlete, I competed in nearly every Track & Field event from youth events to the World Championships and was also fortunate to have learned from some of the best track coaches in the US.
Former professional decathlete with Nike, 2x NCAA Champion, USATF National Champion, 4th place at World Indoor Championships, 4x on Team USA, Gatorade High School National Player of the Year, Olympic Trials & USA Championships qualifier in the Decathlon, 800m, and Long Jump. 17x New Mexico State Champion.
Each session is catered specifically to the client and his or her goals, but the beginning will generally consist of a warm up with sprint drills, some static stretching & dynamic mobility exercises, and accelerations (ensuring good form throughout). If it's a technical session, we'll move to event-specific drills (med-ball throws, hurdle drills, or jump circuits) before starting event work (high jump, javelin, 110 Hurdles, etc). I can also focus on general conditioning by itself or work it in as part of an event-specific session. I also give athletes some drills to work on at home and often take part in demonstrating exercises. My main priorities are for the athlete to leave with a great experience, lessons that last well beyond the session, as well as establish great biomechanics, physical strength, and mental resilience. All equipment is provided.

Jim (CoachUp client)
Coach Curtis provides the best of both worlds. He has competed at high levels, but hasn't forgotten what it's like to learn the basic skills. He was extremely patient, insightful, and motivational. Everything I wanted for my daughter. Thank you!

Knowledgeable and knows how to get the most out of each athlete
Daniel Gooris, Illinois State University (Testimonial)
Curtis has had a massive amount of experience as an athlete and coach. He makes the training sessions fun and extremely productive. While many of his lessons will help short-term goals, they can also inspire long-term habit and mindset changes.
