More About Coach Chase
Jumps coach at De La Salle high school for 4 years. Have previously coached kids of all levels including elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. I have worked one on one with individuals helping 5 high school graduates achieve track scholarships to the schools of their choosing including, UC Berkeley, Cal Poly, Air Force, and Chapman. I am also training under a mentor who has had 3 Olympic athletes, multiple world junior champions, national champions and CA state champions. I have spent more than 10,000 hours throughout my life learning drills and techniques, and I continue to learn more every day.
2012 NCAA qualifier in the long jump. 2009 CIF long jump champion, 3rd in the 4x100 relay. Competed and graduated from UC Berkeley with a full scholarship. Have competed and ran track and field for 14 years and continue to compete.
-Warm up (show proper technique and explain what we are doing and why we are doing it)
-technique work (sprint form/ jump form, proper positioning for most power/speed, what we should be feeling when we run and jump)
-workout incorporating technique (jumping in sand, sprinting on the track or field)
-core work (how to make sure your core is stable and remains active)
-cool down and stretching to prevent injury (showing what and how to stretch)
-Maintenance work (sending athletes home with some work they can do on their own to remain healthy and have peak performance; this may include things such as extra core work/extra stretching, ice bathing techniques, yoga, Pilates, foam rolling technique, mediation, etc.)
