More About Coach Cat

Hi there! I am a Yoga Alliance certified vinyasa yoga instructor. I received my 200 hour certification at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC and have continued my education by achieving an additional training module in restorative yoga and meditation. I have taught vinyasa flow yoga to adults at Loom Yoga Center as well as teaching yoga and meditation to children ages 3 through 14 at summer camps and after school programs. I am interested in expanding and deepening my teaching practice. Yoga offers powerful, positive transformational capabilities for the mind, body and soul, and I love to share this practice with others. I love to introduce yoga to beginners, especially helping people who don't think of themselves as "flexible," "athletic" or "good at yoga/meditation" see that they can start at any point and grow from there. I am also interested in helping those at the intermediate and advanced levels deepen their practices. In addition to being a yogini, I am a musician and an artist and I love to incorporate music, art, and writing into teaching - whatever helps you connect! I'm a lifelong dancer (ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary) and love taking classes at Mark Morris in Brooklyn. I ran track and cross country growing up. I recently started jogging again and my goal is to eventually participate in a 5k race!

I will create a session plan that is tailored to your goals, abilities, and opportunities for growth, drawing upon my training in vinyasa and restorative yoga. I can offer more fitness-based sessions and/or incorporate restorative poses, meditation, mantra and yogic philosophy into our sessions if desired.
