More About Coach Avery

Avery Ellis served as a Graduate Assistant at Temple Owls football in 2016, where he contributed to defensive preparation, film breakdown, and player development, and later brought that same leadership into the professional ranks as a players’ coach during his career with the Montreal Alouettes, mentoring teammates in technique, preparation habits, and championship-level mindset.

Temple University Graduate
NFL/CFL 8 year career
All decade CFL team
professionally in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Montreal Alouettes. As a defensive player, he was known for his explosiveness, strength, and high-motor playing style, earning opportunities to compete against elite talent across North America. During his career, he served not only as a contributor on the field but also as a leader in the locker room, taking on a players’ coach role to mentor younger athletes in preparation, film study, and professional habits. His athletic accomplishments include competing at the professional level, contributing to defensive production, and being recognized for leadership, discipline, and work ethic both on and off the field.

A typical session with me is a high energy, detail-driven 60/75 minute workout designed to develop disciplined, confident athletes through structured progression. We begin with a dynamic warm up focused on mobility, injury prevention, and proper movement mechanics, then transition into speed and agility work emphasizing position specific drills. I look for effort, energy, and attention to details
