More About Coach Dr. Andrew

With over 18 years of experience training elite athletes, I bring both hands-on expertise and a PhD in Human Performance to my coaching. I’ve worked at the highest levels of basketball, tennis, and soccer, training NBA players—including Scottie Pippen—and working with Michael Jordan during his time with the Washington Wizards. I also played a key role in helping Santa Clara University’s Women’s Soccer team win the 2020 National Championship.

Beyond professional and collegiate athletes, I specialize in helping youth and aspiring athletes develop strength, movement efficiency, and injury resilience. My training approach is highly individualized, integrating biomechanics assessments and evidence-based strategies to optimize performance.

I hold multiple certifications, including from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). I also utilize cutting-edge testing methods, including force plate analysis, to track progress and enhance athletic development.

Whether you’re an up-and-coming athlete looking to gain an edge, a professional fine-tuning your game, or recovering from an injury, I provide the expertise, attention to detail, and customized training needed to help you perform at your peak.

My journey in athletics began as a college basketball player at Lewis-Clark State College, where I earned a scholarship that brought me to the United States. Competing at the collegiate level gave me firsthand experience in the demands of high-performance sports and shaped my passion for athlete development.

While I transitioned from player to coach, my career highlights include:

NBA Experience – Worked with multiple NBA teams, Washington Wizards, Portland TrailBlazers, Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls as well as personally training Scottie Pippen and supporting Michael Jordan during his time with the Washington Wizards.
Elite Tennis Training – Provided performance training for Monica Seles, helping enhance movement efficiency and injury prevention.
National Championship Success – Contributed to Santa Clara University Women’s Soccer Team’s 2020 National Championship by implementing strength and conditioning strategies.
Cutting-Edge Performance Science – Earned a PhD in Human Performance, applying research-backed methods to improve athlete development.

My experience as both an athlete and a coach allows me to connect with players on a deeper level, understanding the physical and mental demands of competition. Whether you're looking to enhance your game, gain a competitive edge, or recover from injury, I provide the knowledge and training needed to maximize your potential.

Every session begins with a conversation to understand the athlete’s goals, needs, and injury history. This helps me create a customized plan that maximizes performance while minimizing injury risk.

A Typical Session Includes:
-Athlete Assessment & Injury Screening
-Discuss performance goals and past injuries to tailor the training approach.
-Conduct a range of motion analysis to identify compensation patterns that may increase injury risk.
-Use hands-on techniques to manually address restrictions and improve movement efficiency.

Force Plate Testing & Baseline Analysis
-Utilize force plate technology to assess movement symmetry and force production.
-Establish a baseline for power output, which guides programming and tracks progress.

Training for Power & Mobility
-Develop explosive power through sport-specific strength training.
-Integrate mobility drills to enhance movement efficiency and injury prevention.
-Focus on individualized progressions based on test results and athlete needs.

This science-backed, hands-on approach ensures that every athlete gets a training program designed for optimal performance, injury resilience, and long-term success. If you're serious about taking your game to the next level, let's get to work!
