More About Coach Amir
My coaching experience has just begun. I'm currently coaching one athlete at the time of typing this. And I'll be hosting a Sprint camp this summer as well. I'm also going to be a Graduate Assistant for Benedictine University Track and Field this upcoming fall and Spring. I will be taking over the Sprint Program for this next season. I'll be working with collegiate athletes at the D3 level. And for this summer I'll be working with athletes ranging from middle school to college.
I ran Track for about 6 years. Starting back in highschool. I competed at Oak Park and River Forest Highschool, earned All State Honors in the, 4x2 and the 200m. Qualified for the 4x1 as well but we DQ'd. My collegiate career at Benedictine University did not go well as I was plagued with injuries for a majority of my time here. But I did earn conference honors in the relays at the very least.
A typical session can vary depending on the athlete and their level. My philosophy is honing your form and technique above all else.
Let's say there's a group of athletes, and they all vary in skill in their form/technique. I will still break things down step by step to make sure each athlete understands what they are doing and WHY. I can easily say go do this workout, and they do it, but that doesn't benefit them as much as it will if I were to truly break down movements and workouts that I may have them do. I take the little things seriously, it makes sprinting so much easier once your understand the whys and hows.
