More About Coach Alysa
In 2021, I started coaching weight training and conditioning as a Certified Personal Trainer. After I graduated with my degree(2022) in Kinesiology, I started my own business doing private speed coaching for athletes of all sports. After a year of doing that, I was recognized by the local high school and asked to coach on their track and field team, where I worked with sprinters and hurdlers.
I have worked with athletes from 8-25 years old, ranging from soccer, football, softball/baseball, basketball, and track athletes.
In high school, I was a multi-sport athlete, that ended up focusing on track and field during my final year. I became my school record holder and a 2x State Champion in pole vault. My first year of college was at the University of Mary, where I was awarded the New Comer of the Year award. I then transferred to Azusa Pacific University, where I competed as a Heptathlete (Hurdles, High Jump, Shotput, 200m, Long Jump, Javelin, and 800m). There, I became an 8x NCAA All-American in the Heptathlon, Pentathlon, and Javelin. I am currently competing professionally while pursuing my dream as a leader and coach.
A big focus in my training is aligning and coordinating your body to perform optimally. A lot of athletes have incredible talent, but lack the ability to transfer force from the ground up through their bodies.
Sessions always start with a warm-up focusing on this, and depending on your goals, we will start to progress into a specific practice applying what you learned in the warm-up.
