More About Coach Alex
I'm currently a Track & Field Coach at the University of Miami, with 8 years of experience coaching at the Division I level. Over that time, I've coached 8 Division I All-Americans and 15+ conference champions, working daily with elite collegiate athletes on speed development, strength & conditioning, and performance programming. Alongside my coaching career, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a Master's degree in Coaching and Athlete Development, giving me a strong foundation in both the practical and scientific sides of athletic performance.
I'm certified in three separate Track & Field coaching credentials and have extensive experience designing strength and conditioning programs for athletes across all levels and sports — not just track. Whether you're a masters competitor chasing a personal best, an adult athlete returning to competitive shape, or someone training for a specific performance goal, I build programs around your body, your event, and your timeline using the same principles I've used to develop All-Americans and conference champions.
What I coach:
Sprint mechanics, acceleration, and top-end speed
Strength & conditioning programming for any sport
Agility, power development, and movement efficiency
Return-to-performance and adult/masters track training
Individualized programming backed by exercise science and 8 years of D1 coaching results
I currently work exclusively with adult athletes (18+). If you're serious about getting faster, stronger, and more efficient — and want coaching backed by real, proven Division I results — let's talk.
Athletic Background
Before coaching, I competed at the highest levels of the sport myself. As a decathlete at the University of Cincinnati, I earned All-American honors and was a 3-time conference champion — competing across all ten events, which gave me a rare, complete understanding of sprint mechanics, power development, technical events, and endurance all within one athlete's training. In high school, I was a 2-time state champion.
After college, I competed professionally for 2 years, qualifying for 3 USA Championships. That experience gave me first-hand insight into what it actually takes to train, recover, and perform at an elite level — knowledge I now bring directly into how I coach.
Between my own competitive career and 8 years coaching Division I athletes to All-American and conference championship honors, every program I build is grounded in both lived experience and proven results.
Technical coaching in real time. As a former All-American and 2-time USA Championships qualifier, I know what elite sprint and movement mechanics actually look and feel like. You’ll get hands-on cueing and correction throughout the session, not just a list of exercises to complete on your own.
Programming built on exercise science, not trends. Every drill, lift, or speed session ties back to a specific outcome. You’ll understand why you’re doing something, not just what to do — which means you can keep making progress even between sessions.
Coaching shaped by Division I experience. The same attention to detail I use with the athletes I coach at the University of Miami — athletes who’ve become All-Americans and conference champions — is what you get in your own sessions, scaled to your goals and level.
