More About Coach Albert
I've trained athletes and clients over 10 years starting in sports rehab as a physical therapy technician and transitioning into the strength and conditioning field. I've worked with athletes returning from injury, athletes developing foundational strength, and high level individuals preparing for their specific competition. My Focus is based around movement quality, performance, confidence and long-term health.
In my 10 years of training, I've been honored to coach at multiple levels including youth/developmental athletes, middle/high school athletes, collegiate athletes, professional and national-team level athletes as well as general population and adult fitness clients. A few places I worked as a coach or trainer notably, the University of Colorado Boulder working with the football team and worked as an assistant strength coach for the U.S. Women's National Rugby 15s. I served as an interim head strength coach during prep for their test match overseas against Ireland and England. I've also worked and continue to work in the private sector at two sports performance facilities in Denver, and worked with athletes in various sports at J.K. Mullen High School.
I'm work with all ages but typically have been working with youth athletes between the ages of 10-12, middle, high school and collegiate athletes. I also continue to work with adults and recreational athletes. I have a Master's Degree from the University of Denver in Sport Coaching along with a Strength and Conditioning & Fitness Coaching Certificate from the University of Denver. I currently hold a Level 1 USAW certification and in the process of attaining the CSCS certification.
I was a former defensive back at Marshall University in 2004. No major or specific athletic accomplishments or awards/honors during my time.
The focus when you train with me varies on what you as the individual wants to work on, develop, and or get stronger at. Movement quality is at the pinnacle of everything my athlete or client does. Every session is designed with a purpose based on your goals. Your training history is a factor in how we build and progress with each session. Every session begins with some for of mobility warm up to get the body prepped for activity. After, we get into the workout details and always finish a training session with an assessment, recap, brief discussion of what's to come during the next session.
You can expect coaching that is supportive but honest, technical without being overwhelming, and always centered on helping you feel more capable and confident in your body.
