Aidan Kreiley

With over thirteen years of experience as a competitive swimmer and coach, I have spent nearly four years as a coach. I have spent two years providing learn-to-swim instruction for kids six to eight years old with Mercury Swimming in western NY, one year providing private competitive swim lessons while in school at the University of Louisville, and I am currently closing in on one year as Associate Head Coach for Mt. Lebanon Aqua Club located in Pittsburgh. I have coached all ages from developmental to masters swimmers, and have coached at major junior national level competitions. I spend most of my time working with ages 8-18, occasionally coaching returning college and masters swimmers.

As an athlete I am fortunate to have had a successful career. In high school, I qualified for five junior national meets, qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials, and was the NYS High School Champion in the 100 Breast.

I spent four years of my collegiate career at the University of Louisville with my last two years as team captain. I contributed to their first ever ACC team title, while also a finalist five times throughout my career. As a semi-professional during the summer seasons, I was a finalist at the Phillips 66 USA Swimming National Championships, while also earning my second trip to the U.S. Olympic Trials.

I gained an additional year of eligibility due to COVID, and spent my last year at St. Bonaventure University. In my last year as an athlete, I set school records in the 100 and 200 Breast, assisted in breaking the 200 and 400 Medley Relay school records, and won the A10 Conference title in the 100 Breast.

Each session is always structured around the athlete's goals, current ability, and competition demands. I will always begin by establishing a positive relationship with the athlete, as I believe it is vital to have trust in order to make progress. I then proceed to identify the needs of the athlete. Examples may include technique assessments, training routines, or identifying habits that have been hindering a breakthrough. Sessions then include race review, discussions over customized training plans, or technical instruction in person. With my services covering a broad spectrum, I will work individually with the client to map their personal session.
