More About Coach Zanthius

I have three years of coaching experience working with athletes ages 12–22 at the junior high, high school, and collegiate levels. I have coached both indoor and outdoor track & field, serving as Head Throwing Coach at Framingham High School, where I coached all five throwing events: shot put, discus, javelin, hammer, and weight throw. I developed individualized and group technical and resistance training programs focused on strength and power development, movement quality, and competition readiness. My athletes earned 25 Bay State Conference medals, along with multiple conference and state championships, All-State honors, and New Balance Nationals qualifications. I have also worked with collegiate throwers, multi-event athletes, and sprinters across several programs

I am a former high school and collegiate Track and Field athlete, who currently still competes in the sport as an unattached athlete. In high school I was a multiple time league and state medallist in the Javelin Throw. In College I competed at both Fitchburg and Bridgewater State University where I was a multiple time league medallist in Shotput and the Javelin throw, earning All Region honors in the New England area, and being Nationally ranked in both events

Throwers:

To figure out points of improvement and movement qualities that need improvement

Distance Athletes:
- Dynamic Warmup (5 - 10 min)
- Physical Assessment (5 min)
To observe movement capacity to assess and identify movement and strength qualities that need improvement
- Power and Strength Development work (45 - 50 min)
With supplementary accessory work attuned towards improving asymmetries, strength, and movement capacity.

Sprinters / Jumpers / Multi-Event:
- Dynamic Warmup (5 - 10 min)
- Dynamic Sprints and Drill Work (5 - 15 min)
With the intent of improving technical efficiency, posture, rhythm, and force application.
- Power and Strength Development work (35 - 50 min)
