More About Coach Willie

15 years experience coaching and training throwers. It’s been a wonderful journey. My athletes have been national champions, all americans, national athletes of the year in shot put, javelin, hammer, weight throw and discus.

I was a below-average thrower in high school. Thirty-eight feet in shot put and 117 feet in the discus. I walked on to a division II school in Indiana, earned three, NCAA all American honors in the hammer and weight throw.

These are individual sessions with Coach Little and an athlete. Parents you are welcome to stick around during the session. Please bring a lawn chair and feel free to record if it helps.

Your athlete will go through a warm-ups, plyometric drills, meditation and technical skills to help in your event specific training.

Each athlete will receive a meditation journal to track progress, as well as receive videos on things they can correct between their next practice session.

Client Reviews

My daughter is a beginner thrower and attended her first session with Coach Willie Little today. It was time very well spent. He identified and was able to relate to her technical skills that would help her spin better in order to improve her throwing. He was kind and personable and she really enjoyed her time learning from him today! Thank you very much Coach!

From the first minute he connected with my son and made him feel at ease. Very easy going person with tons of knowledge. Just the few basics he covered in day one proved to be very beneficial and improved my sons throwing technique. If day 1 gave these improvements, cant see see where this goes.

My daughter has grown so much working with Coach Willie. He is positive and encouraging. Coach Willie breaks down the movements and is an outstanding teacher!

Knowledgeable, encouraging, and incredibly kind. Willie has the ability to really breakdown movements step by step, explain each individual piece, and help his students put them into action. Highly recommend!

Willie is an excellent coach! Knowledgable, encouraging and down to Earth, I am learning several new things every time I work with him. He sends me home with feedback, drills to do at home and makes sure that I have goals for now and the future. He’s also just a great person- he makes people feel welcome and is committed to building a really positive attitude.

We are only a few months in with Coach Little, but already know he the preeminent throwing coach in the Midwest for the 18U. Beyond his incredible technical knowledge, Coach also knows the college recruiting market well, has a deep Rolodex, and is the perfect Sherpa for a kid with aspirations to throw at the high D1 level. The proof is in the pudding - state and national champions in his stable, and he’s just getting started.

He is very positive with the kids, but also holds them accountable. His technical knowledge is mind-blowing across all three major events (shot/disc/hammer). His Dad also happened to be one of the greatest high school basketball coaches in Illinois history (a HOF member, he later coached at UIC as well) so it’s in his blood.

We plan to stay with Coach until our
son does not want to throw anymore, which is unlikely. Worth every penny.

Thank you Coach!

Great coach! Helps me work through my challenges both mentally and physically. Knows how to explain things to help you understand.

Coach Willie is fantastic. His ability to breakdown throws techniques and work with you to correct the small things is such a gift. Highly recommend.
